Our youth basketball program is looking for a few community members to help support and mentor our high school student referees during Saturday games!

We’re looking for volunteers who have a good understanding of basketball and are willing to serve as a Head Ref alongside our student refs.

Your role would be to:
🏀 Help guide our high school refs throughout the game
🏀 Assist with calls and answer questions
🏀 Help explain calls to our youth players when needed
🏀 Create a positive learning environment for both our players AND our young officials

📅 Game Days: Saturdays
January 2 – January 30, 2027

You don't have to commit to every Saturday—even helping with a few games would make a difference!

This is a great way to give back to our basketball program while helping our young players and student refs learn the game, build confidence, and grow. 🏀

Special thanks to our referees for an amazing season! These young people showed up every Saturday morning for eight weeks to ref and encourage our youngest Bulldogs! The boys even stepped up and coached a few games when coaches were unable to be there. The kids loved having these “celebrity” coaches for the week! If you see Addison Aalbers, Keely Moorehead, Brady Harr or Brody Peters, be sure to thank them for their time and for helping to make HYB possible! We appreciate them!

The 5-6 grade boys and 4-6 girls had the chance to show off their skills at the half time games tonight! They got to be in the tunnel as the starters were being introduced and all watched the game together. The Bullpups were also introduced! The future of Bulldog basketball looks bright! 😎

Special thanks to these businesses for supporting us this year! Without their assistance, we would not be where we are today! If you see any of these people or go to any of these businesses, tell them THANK YOU for supporting us!

The board will plan to have the games on Saturday, as temperatures are supposed to be in the single digits and not much wind. We will, however, continue to track the weather throughout tomorrow evening and will make an announcement if we decide to cancel. If you don’t hear anything, then games are on. If you don't feel comfortable attending that morning, please stay home, your safety is number one concern.
