IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT!

Hello everyone! It's that time of year again when we are looking for kids to participate in our upcoming spring show "Aladdin Jr." "Aladdin Jr." is scheduled to be performed in May as was "Annie Jr." in May of 2025. Ages 8-18 are eligible for this great program. If you are interested in getting help in preparing for our audition scheduled for Sunday, February 15 at 3:00 PM, then you may be interested in attending our free audition prep workshop scheduled for Sunday, February 8 at 3:00 PM (this is when we start distributing audition materials).

Thank you, thank you, thank you, to those who were able to come to our event on November 14 honoring the legacy of our black playwrights. The talent was outstanding! Our audience wasn't too large, BUT, we had a grand time. Hats off to those who performed and did so with STYLE. Our first place contestant came from right here in our own back yard, Newport News, Va. A PROUD Norfolk State University grad. Second place award went southside to another PROUD Norfolk State University grad, and third prize went to a sophomore from Hampton University. CONGRATS to you all for an outstanding performance. We also paid homage to our black playwrights August Wilson, George C. Wolfe, and Ntozake Shange from whose works the winning monologues were used for the competition. A group picture was taken along with pictures of the winning contestants. Thanks again for a wonderful event!!

Ok folks, we are 7 days out from our event. Now on to the nitty gritty as they said back in the day. I have not seen this type of event presented before on the peninsula. This event is educational which is not your standard fare on this platform.

This event is unique and you will come away with something positive to reflect on with regard to the contributions made by so many of our black playwrights.

With regards to the numbers being interested, they are in the hundreds, which is not bad but we need to convert those numbers into attendees. WE NEED TO FILL SEATS!

Some of you have shared this good news with others, we need everyone to share this event with family, friends, etc. Spread the word like it is juicy gossip and you know what I'm talking about 🤣🤣! Come on now, let's do this. This flyer with the QR code is easy to put this in the hands of folks, so let's get rolling.
