The online event titled Sustainable Farm Management: Planning for Conservation is the first of a three-part series offered by NOFA-NJ. This event will focus on the conservation planning process and what the landowner, farmer, or property manager can expect during the plan writing process.
This presentation focuses on improving soil stability and other natural resources through a mutually beneficial system of conservation strategies for working farms. The presentation navigates through the assessment of existing soil conditions, the establishment of agricultural and conservation objectives, and the plan of action. It addresses the systematic approach of the integration of crop management techniques, vegetative practices, and structurally engineered solutions. The presentation explores the significance of collaborating with stakeholders and the benefits of strengthening soil. The overall focus is on how the combination of these diverse methods brings about significant improvements in soil quality, durability, and sustainability, all while maintaining agricultural production.
