IMPORTANT VOTE Tuesday June 16

We wanted to make sure our Civic Association and Hampton Bays residents are aware of an important upcoming vote on June 16 regarding the proposed sale of Hampton Bays Fire District property to a developer involved in the downtown revitalization effort.

The property is located at 84 W. Montauk Highway, just across from the Fire Station, between Good Ground Park and Montauk Highway.

A legal notice in the May 14 Southampton Press outlined the details of this special election. This vote will determine whether the Fire District is authorized to sell the land, which could play a significant role in shaping the future of our hamlet’s downtown. Without further Community input.

Regardless of where you stand on the proposal, this is a meaningful local decision, and we encourage all eligible residents to stay informed and participate.

Election takes place Tuesday June 16, 6-9PM, at the Hampton Bays Fire District Headquarters, 69 W. Montauk Highway. Eligible voters only.

Correction of info given:

At this time the February 26th Town Planning Board Work session at 2:00 will take place.

There are several items of interest on the agenda but unfortunately the public are not allowed to give input at this meeting. If you cannot attend, it might be available to watch live on Zoom. If it is, the link to connect is on the Town’s Website.

The Feb 24 Town Board meeting 1:00 that was canceled is rescheduled for March 3 at 1:00.

There are several items on the agenda that affect Hampton Bays. If you cannot attend in person, hopefully you can attend it using Zoom.

It’s valuable to know firsthand what is being discussed and decided for our hamlet and to give your input when possibly, especially due to the weather forcing the Civic meetings to be canceled.

Stay safe and be aware...
