ECI serves Hampton Bays, NY with several environmental initiatives, including a community composting program, free seed libraries at the local public library and at our Eco Shack at located at our organic heritage garden at St. Rosalie's Community Food Pantry in Hampton Bays. ECI's mission is to foster a resilient, ecology-based coastal community through advocacy and education in sustainable food

On Saturday, members of the Hampton Bays Middle School National Junior Honor Society participated in a Volunteer Day of Service. Students volunteered at various locations throughout the community to help in meaningful ways.

We enjoyed working with the group that came to ECI to help w**d, spread mulch and make the garden beautiful. 💜🤍

The weather has been gorgeous and things are growing fast in the garden! ☀️

Lettuce, radishes, dill, kale, peas, onions, garlic, beets, cucumbers, tomatoes, carrots, peppers, and more are now planted!

We harvested our first 5 pounds of leafy greens this week—just the beginning of the season's harvests. 🥬

A big thank you to Riverhead Building Supply for donating the lumber to build borders for seven beds. We're hoping the new borders will help keep those persistent w**ds in check!

We may have gotten a little too excited for planting season! The good news for you? Our greenhouse has some extra plants looking for new homes!

Stop by our plant sale on Friday (5/22) & Saturday (5/23). Each purchase helps our garden continue to grow fresh organic produce for St. Rosalie’s Food Pantry!

Garden beds are coming to life, library classes are underway, hives are buzzing, Earth Day brought us together and Rewild plants are finding their new homes!
