Our mission/purpose is to share gardening experiences at our monthly meetings and encourage an interest in gardening, promote civic beauty, and conserve natural resources. We establish and maintain beautiful gardens in Hampstead including Sign Island, Veteran’s Memo

Members enjoy guest lecturers, β€œhands-on” workshops and demonstrations while taking part in planning the annual fundraiser -- typically a Plant Sale or Garden Walk. The Hampstead Garden Club recently visited Wellington Gardens in Brentwood on a beautiful late spring evening.

Members learned all about this family owned business, toured the beautiful grounds, and purchased some plants to take home 🌼

Wellington Gardens has beautiful perennials, flourishing hanging baskets, and a wide array of annuals, herbs, and vegetables. We definitely recommend visiting them before they close for the year in July!

Recently the Hampstead Garden Club opened our civic garden sites around town and then hosted a "Friends and Family Plant Sale" following the garden openings.

As many in the community know, the HGC hosts a different type of fundraiser each year. Some years it is a garden walk and some years it is a plant sale. This year, instead of an open to the public plant sale, we hosted a sale exclusive to our members, friends, and family.

We do this to allow our gardens that we divide plants from to have a break from a large cut back. We also want to give our members a chance to purchase plants since they shop last at the big sale.

Thank you to all of our members who made this a successful day! πŸ’š

For our April meeting we were lucky to have our very own Marie Somers give us a fun and informative presentation all about essential oils.

We learned how to utilize essential oils out in the garden whether it be to keep ticks and mosquitoes away while we work, make a concoction to spray plants with to keep pests at bay, or how to incorporate them for better plant health 🌱

In March, the HGC was lucky enough to take a field trip to Dunk's Mushrooms in Brentwood, NH. πŸ„β€πŸŸ«

We learned all about mushrooms, got to see how they grow, and hear about all the products that Dunk's makes with mushrooms.

Dunk's also hosts regular Sunday dinners with guest chefs to prepare delicious meals using their fresh mushrooms. These events are very popular and sell out quickly! πŸ„
