We are deeply saddened! 💔🥲
Rest Peacefully now Weston❤️
Weston Eric Moss found his way back to the stars at 1:17 AM January 12, 2026 in the arms of his parents and surrounded by love.
Weston may have only lived 12 years, but he filled those years to the brim. He adventured, he created, he loved, and he smiled every day with everything he had. No matter what life threw at him, he never let it stop him from enjoying each moment and spreading joy to others. Even in his last few days when the cancer took his arms and legs away, he noted that no matter what it took, he wouldn’t let it take away his happiness and he kept smiling right up to the end. A true testament to his joyful spirit, in the final picture we have of him just four hours before his death he had a smile on his face.
In the days leading up to his death, Weston spoke of fate and what it means to be chosen for a difficult journey, likening himself to Frodo from the Lord of the Rings. When Frodo says to Gandalf “I wish the ring had never come to me. I wish none of this had happened,” Gandalf responds ”So do all who live to see such times. But that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given us." Weston took that message to heart and he lived it every day.
He knew he was chosen for a higher purpose and he beared that burden with wisdom and grace. His wish was for a better, more kind and caring world, filled with happiness and smiles and he knew he could use his life to spread that message far and wide. To the thousands of people who have learned of his journey and the countless friend and family he visited with in his final week, his ask to everyone who knew him was to carry on his legacy by being happy and being kind. He said it over and over again: If he could not continue living in this world, he still wanted it to be the best world for those who get to live on it.
Please join me in carrying Weston’s legacy forward and helping to heal the world. He saw and heard far too much of the evils in this world while he was alive, and he knew that things could be better if we all just chose to be kind. In his memory and in his honor, please always choose to be kind. When faced with sadness, fear or anger, respond with joy. Share a smile with a stranger to brighten their day. Make a choice, not just once but every day to do something to make the world a better place. And when you do these things, please think of Weston. I know he’s watching us all now and I know it will bring him much joy to see what an impact his life has made.
Like a small pebble dropped in water can ripple far and wide, the wish of one small boy can truly change the world if we all let it ripple through us.
Rest in Peace, Weston. Mommy loves you forever and I promise to make you proud. ❤️
