The Portia Foundation was started because of a pretty little Baroque Pinto Mare that unexpectedly became very sick, very quickly. Tia was at Tufts University for 33 days. Tia did make it home but then had to be humanly euthanized 3 weeks later. With the help Of so many friends and family, Jamie did raise $30k+ to help pay for the medical bills that were piling up quickly. At the end of everything, Jamie’s and Tias medical bills were $50,000+.

Jamie came up with the foundation to try to help aid other horseman in emergency situations. The Foundation pleasure classes was one of the ways that was thought of to help raise money for disaster relief.

A HUGE congratulations goes out to this rider below who won The Portia Foundation Pleasure Class at the 8th Annual David Kuhbander Memorial Royal K horse show in Beavercreek, Ohio!

Our Mission..to assist other horse owners in need of help as a result of an unexpected emergency and when time is of the essence, is what is sorely needed in today’s financial environment. And, the last thing one should have to worry about is how to pay the Vet while your horse is suffering and you can barely think straight. 🌟

Join us this weekend at the Northeast Friesian Horse Club for the first Portia Foundation Fundraiser class. These are the beautiful ribbons that are for this class! This class is an Open WTC Pleasure Class!

The Portia Foundation was founded in 2021 and has filed all necessary paperwork to become a 501c3 organization. As you know, the process of this is very long. The foundation is allowed to start fundraising but any money collected is not considered tax exempt until the filing is approved.

The Foundation's mission is to aid Equestrians during emergency medical situations that they need help paying for financially!

The Portia Foundation will host their first fundraising class during the NEFHC June Classic in Deerfield NH June 18 -20th with the Portia Foundation Pleasure Class. NEFHC will donate 80% of the proceeds of the class to the Foundation.
