Our Hampden Kiwanis Club enjoyed a busy week to start May.

At our Thursday business meeting, we hosted four interclub guests from the Orono-Old Town Kiwanis Club. We heard from two HA Key Club members about their experience at the recent Key Club Convention, where they learned about leadership and future opportunities in the Kiwanis family of organizations.

Thursday morning, three hundred dozen roses arrived for our Mother's Day Rose Sale, and after filling (132 pre-orders), we spent Friday and Saturday selling the rest to the public, and the few we didn't sell were donated to the Bangor VA Nursing Home and a local Hampden business.

We also got the reader board and banner advertising our next fundraiser with the help of Marsh Island Kitchen, the "Craft Your Draft" raffle to raise funds for the Hampden Children's Day.

IT'S OFFICIAL

The semitruck just delivered 300 dozen roses for the Hampden Kiwanis Club. We have pre-orders for about one-half of the roses and will be selling the rest in front of Hampden's Irving Gas from 9 AM - 3 PM on Friday and Saturday.

Hampden Kiwanis and Marsh Island Kitchen fundraiser, with proceeds going to our Hampden Children's Day. Raffle tickets can be purchased at Marsh Island Kitchen or from any Hampden Kiwanis member.

A busy day for our Hampden Kiwanis Club. Got the beans started at 5:30 AM for the evening's "Bean Supper."

Then, along with five HA Key Club members, we participated in Hampden's Stream Clean-up Day, which we helped co-sponsor.

We finished our day with the help of four HA Key Club members and five Friends of Hampden Kiwanis (including Orono-Old Town Kiwanis members) for our last "Bean Supper" until October. We served 81 meals and delivered another 20 to the Bangor Homeless Shelter.

A busy Saturday (4/4) for our club as we started the day hosting the annual Easter Egg Hunt with the Hampden Academy Key Club (100+ children ages 3-12 yo in attendance) and ended our day with another delicious "Bean Supper", feeding 70 and delivering another 30 meals to the Bangor Homeless Shelter.
