This week Steuben Explorers went to Capture Stained Glass in Painted Post to make stained glass creations. The picked between a gnome, a dog, or a butterfly and then provided color preferences. The kids learned all the steps required to make their creations. Everyone had a great time at the class.

Today we did our Memorial day cookout. The kids worked on their outdoor cooking skills. They picked something they wanted to make and made to share with everyone. Everything was made over the campfire or in dutch ovens on the fire or with charcoal.
The menu:
Chicken and vegetable kabobs
Taco pasta
Chicken and gnocchi soup
Cinnamon roll apple pie
Rhubarb raspberry crisp
Rhubarb blueberry crisp.

Today our club members did some community service by loading, unloading, and spreading 4 pickup truck loads of wood chips for the First Presbyterian Church in Bath. We greatly appreciate the church for letting us have our meetings there.

Today some of our members toured Fox's Skulls & Hides. The kids learned about using beatles to clean skulls and all the steps required to fully clean and whiten a skull. They also got to see how to skin a musckrat and stretch the hide along with skinning a beaver tail. Thank you Bronson Fox for spending time and going over everything with the kids.

The catnip toys and dog pull toys that were made earlier this month have been delivered. The kids also got to tour the SPCA

The Steuben Explorers 4H Group visited this morning and brought with them toys for both the cats and dogs. Thanks for your kindness!

This week Steuben Explorers made animal toys to be donated to Finger Lakes SPCA. They learned sewing machine skills to make cat kicker toys. For the dogs they made braided fleece pull toys. Toys will be donated to SPCA at a later date.

At our last meeting, during our Christmas Party, we helped prepare luminaries for the First Presbyterian Church of Bath. The youth prepared 180 luminaries that will be put around Pultney Park on Christmas Eve.

Today's meeting the kids learned to make old fashioned ice cream. Chocolate and vanilla ice cream as well as fresh raspberry sorbet. We didn't have enough time to let it get really hard but everyone enjoyed thier ice cream sundae anyways.
