Our club is proud to help support the community. We presented a check to City Court Judge Britain Sledge and Hammond Mayor Pete Panepinto to support the 2025 Back to School Bash which is Friday, August 1. Annually the City of Hammond partners with the City Court to provide free backpacks and school supplies for students in Pre-K to 8th Grade.

We heard a great presentation from Strader Cieutat, the organizer of the Ponchatoula Veterans Parade and Celebration this Nov. 1. This is wonderful way to honor, recognize and salute the men and women who served our country. We look forward to supporting Strader and her work. We will have more information to present to help spread the word. Strader is pictured here with Deek who served in the navy and Bill who served in the army.

We invite everyone to join us for our annual July 4 Flag Raising at Hammond Square Mall. The ceremony will begin at 9:00 am on Friday, July 4 with the Opening Prayer by Rev. Liz Embler-Beazley from Grace Memorial Episcopal Church, the National Anthem with MaryClaire Hoover, the Pledge of Allegiance led by Boy Scout Troop 270 and Pack 170, comments from Hammond Mayor Pete Panepinto and Parish President Robby Miller, Patriotic Readings by students from Courtney Christian Academy and the Flag Raising with the Hammond Fire Department, Police Department and Rotary Members.

Last week we were able to cook a great Breakfast for the Hammond Police Department’s Camp Blue! Special thanks to Joey Dominick for setting this up and coordinating everything. Joining the group were Rotary members Trey Tycer & Leisa and Deek DeBlieux. More than 100 campers and councilors enjoyed freshly cooked pancakes and sausages! YUM!
