Please check on one another this weekend. If you know anyone at all who may need a safe place to get out of the cold, please reach out to them and share these options. Extreme cold can be dangerous, and no one should have to face it alone.

With extremely cold weather expected, warming shelters are available in Hammond for anyone who needs a warm, safe place to go. The following city-owned buildings will be open during normal business hours for people to get out of the cold. In the event of a citywide power outage, these locations will be open 24 hours:

📍 Hammond Civic Center

📍 Jean Shepherd Community Center
