Our Summer Lunch Sack Program will begin on Monday, June 1st, 2026. If providing lunch for your school age kids every day during the summer break is a struggle, come see us! Every school age child receives a bag of easy to prepare lunch items, plus every family receives a peanut butter & jelly and an extra box of cereal.

You DO NEED to live in the North Township and register with our food pantry. Each child can get one bag a month in June, July & August.

Meijer Simply Give Campaign

So far this year our friends, on and off Facebook, have helped us raise $13,680 in gift cards so that we can purchase food for our food pantry. WOW and THANK YOU!!

We are part of the Meijer Simply Give Campaign at the Highland Indiana Store. There are four campaigns each year with one that is going on RIGHT NOW!

We are so GRATEFUL for Meijer and their generosity to the community. Did you know for every $10 you donate through the card you can pick up at the Highland store (or come get one from us), Meijer also donates $10, so we get $20 from your $10?

On DOUBLE MATCH DAYS (Saturday June 20th this campaign), Meijer DOUBLES that match. This means that if you go in on Saturday the 20th of June and donate $10, Meijer will add $20. If you donate $100, Meijer will add $200, and so on.

Summer Lunch Sack Program

We want to give a BIG SHOUT OUT to some ladies at Saint Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church in Hammond. They worked hard to gather donations for our Summer Lunch Sack Program, bringing us dozens and dozens of boxes of cereal, granola bars and fruit snacks. They also worked hard and packed over 100 bags to help us get the program up and running on Monday, June 1.

Summer Lunch Sack Program

We want to say a GREAT BIG thank you to Girl Scout Troop 15580! On Tuesday we had Girl Scouts, moms & leaders, and a little brother, come in and pack 76 bags for our Summer Lunch Sack Program.

They also donated a lot of food for our program; peanut butter & jelly, fruit snacks, granola bars, canned pasta, and lots of other goodies.

Thank you ladies, and the one gentleman!

I just got back from visiting family in Austin Texas and had an interesting conversation with my sister Cheryl during my visit.

Me: We should find a nice place to go for a walk today.
Cheryl: I don't know, it's kind of chilly out today.
Me: Cheryl, it's 81 degrees outside.

This is what happens when you've lived in a HOT place for years.

They are at in again! VanTils on 169th in Hammond is hosting another food drive for us. It's been going on for weeks now. We don't even ask them to do it, they just do it! This is a grocery store that genuinely cares about their community! Thank you VanTils, on 169th!!!
