🌀 Hurricane season is here—prepare now, not when a storm is approaching.
Center of Hope for Tangipahoa serves as a designated Long-Term Recovery Group, helping connect families with resources and support when disaster leaves lasting unmet needs. Recovery can take months—or even years—so the steps you take today can make a major difference later.
Before a storm:
📸 Take clear pictures and videos of every room, the outside of your home, vehicles, and valuable belongings. Save copies somewhere you can access even if your phone is lost or damaged.
📄 Review your homeowners, renters, and flood insurance policies. Keep policy numbers and important documents in a waterproof container.
🎒 Prepare an emergency kit with water, nonperishable food, medications, flashlights, candles, batteries, chargers, hygiene supplies, pet needs, and cash.
📍 Know your evacuation route, make a family communication plan, and sign up for local emergency alerts.
