We will be at the fairgrounds this Sunday, April 12th at 1:00 PM to clean the arena and work with Anna on her pigs.

All exhibitors are welcome to bring their pigs and take advantage of the opportunity to practice showmanship.

We will also be available to answer any questions regarding the upcoming open show. So even if you do not want to bring your pigs out, feel free to stop by.

Banners and buckles are currently being shipped—let’s keep these awards in the county. *well over $3000 in prizes going out! Rumors of prizes reaching $5000.

Please remember to visit Jakes Feed & Garden for your show supply needs.

Feel free to invite other 4-H swine members to this group and encourage them to join us at the fairgrounds this Sunday.

Couple big things happening this summer!

-One is the open show that I'm hosting this May.
-Second is Starke County 4-H will be a breed show this year.

I will be putting together teams of people that would like to volunteer for the open show very soon. Grounds help, arena help, registration/show table, and other departments.

4-H breed show- Right now is the time to plan on what Pigs you plan to exhibit at the fair. The top Pig from each breed (11 breeds) will compete for the grand champion. The second place from each breed, will be brought in consecutively to compete for second through fifth place.

*Berkshire, Chester White, Duroc, Hampshire, Hereford, Landrace, Poland China, Spots, Tamworth, Yorkshire, and Crossbred.

Again- Look at the rules and start planning now.
