We are beyond grateful for the support from Walmart and the Spark Good Grant we received.

Our program is centered around art, outdoors and cultural heritage. We are connecting with our senior citizens at Doc Hill’s Family Care and working with local businesses to not just provide a safe space but also to create a pipeline for success.

Royal Roots connects healing, opportunity, and support to youth and women in Richmond County.

If you’d like to learn more about our services and support us through your time, talents and dollars, please contact us today.

Thank you for seeing value in what we’re doing Walmart!

Nina Simone

On this day in 1933, Nina Simone (1933–2003) was born Eunice Kathleen Waymon in Tryon, NC. A child prodigy who played piano by age three, she studied classical music at Juilliard before performing in nightclubs in the 1950s.

Known as the “High Priestess of Soul,” she blended classical, jazz, blues, and soul into a genre-defying style that made her an international icon and a powerful voice for the Civil Rights Movement.

Among her most influential works are “Why (The King of Love is Dead)” and “Young, Gifted and Black,” inspired by the lives of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and Lorraine Hansberry.
