Western Illinois Threshers

Western Illinois Threshers Western Illinois Threshers Inc is a non-profit organization. Today it has grown into Western Illinois Threshers Inc, and is celebrating its 50th year in 2017.

In the Spring of 1968 a group of neighbors meet in a local farm shop to discuss how to they wanted to display their ever growing collection of antique tractors. The goal of the organization is to educate, demonstrate and inform the youth and public on the methods of agriculture from the past. Since the first threshing bee the show has continued to grow in size, and in 1975 the organization purchas

ed the 40 acre plot of land. The show was then able to purchase another 40 acres of land right next to it accommodate their still continued growing size. Today on the grounds you will find two main buildings, a raffle building, gas station, print shop, blacksmith shop, a museum building, along with a second museum in the works, two railroad depots, a short line railroad, school house, church building, log cabins, general store and a permanent steam powered saw mill and sawyers office, and petting zoo. During the year threshers is also host to many local school kids for two days. During the day the kids get to learn about agriculture as well as try out some of the "old time" ways!
