Hamilton Eagles Boxing Club Dean and Cheryl Walrod took over this organization in 1970. Their hopes were to inspire children, curb juvenile delinquency and develop amateur boxing.

Boxers, Staff, and parents, we will practice this evening Thursday the 23rd and then close for the season. Please get any equipment back this evening or arrange to bring it to me soon. Participation has dropped off due to other sports and staff has been short due to out of town work. A big thanks to Chris Smith and Chet Benson for their help this year. I am proud of each boxer that participated this year and look forward to next season. We will likely pick back up in September.

Boxers, Staff, and parents, we will practice this coming Tuesday and then be closed through April 13th. We will be short on coaches and most kids are doing other sports. we will complete the season with our last practices being April 14th through April 28th.

Team, I am still dizzy and hacking today. No practice this evening. We will get back on it Tuesday. I wanted to also give everyone an update on the fights last weekend: Sonny's fight was ended early due to an experience gap. The other coach and I thought this would match up well but quickly recognized his boxer had matured faster. I threw the towel in as we already had 2 eight counts and we didn't want our teammate to get hurt or be stopped by the ref. Sonny will get back to the drawing board and come back even stronger. Ezra's first fight was really solid, we did not score enough points, his opponent was older and slightly more experienced, but Ezra did a really great job. Brandon competed with a really good boxer making his debut from Legacy and stopped him in the third round. It was an awesome match. Finally I wanted to push out congratulations to Coach Chet for certifying to coach, Chris Taggart for certifying to time-keep and clerk, and Jordan Dean for certifying to officiate. Team, no practice tonight. I caught some crud this weekend and don't want to get everyone sick. Coach Benson will be out of town this week. I will see how I am feeling on Thursday.

Reminder: Officials clinic this Saturday at the Hamilton Eagles Boxing Club starting at 10:00 AM at 116 North Second in Hamilton. Come and get certified to time keep/clerk, supervise, judge, or ref, level one and two. We will be done in the afternoon. Thanks.

A VERY BIG THANK YOU to the Hamilton Trap Club for volunteering to support our fundraiser today. Bev and Larry Ward, Dick, Cheryl, and Eddie thanks for all that you do! Congratulations to Jesse Rouse who won the high performance shotgun the was donated by Dustin with Frontier Guns and Ammo, thanks Dustin! Congrats to Linda Taggart for winning the 50/50 drawing and then donating most of it back and to Mr. Jessop for winning the Annie Oakley shoot and donating that back. We appreciate all of the donated items for the silent auction and for the shooters that participated. Contrats to those who won the auction items. The two Stock Farm teams slayed the dragon and made all of us up our game. Honorable mention to Tom for assisting with scoring! The boxing club volunteers: Jim and Jimmy Stuart, Chris Taggart, Linda Taggart, Mike Beckman, Carrie Johnson, Brody Manko, Chet Benson, Sonny and Jordan Dean, and Chris and Hlloy Smith, thank you all! It was a super fun day and the kids from our community really appreciate it.
