Preparation for manning the fair ticket booths has begun. Look at the schedule (link above) to choose your time slots. Please choose multiple slots, and the sooner the better. This is a big task; your help is greatly appreciated — AND NEEDED!
Don’t hesitate to ask family, friends, and relatives to help out. BRB*H has supported the Ravalli County Fair for many years by providing volunteers to sell and take tickets at the gates. It is the only fundraiser for our chapter; the funds help us perform the work projects to clear trails and more. Work a four-hour shift and get into the fair for free for one day!

Attended the ribbon cutting and dedication ceremony of the 30,000 sq.ft National Conservation Legacy Center at the National Museum of Forest Service History here in Missoula yesterday morning at 10 am. Overwhelming show of support for the Forest Service and Conservation.

Bitter Root Back Country Horsemen continue their series of monthly outdoor summer meetings on Thursday, July 16, at the Coyote Coulee Trailhead. To get there take Hwy 93 for 9 miles south of Hamilton and turn west onto Lost Horse Road. Follow the road for 2 miles and turn right at the sign for Coyote Coulee and Camas Lake (Forest Service Road 496). The trailhead is a quarter mile ahead. A potluck starts at 6:30 p.m., followed by the general meeting at 7:00. Bring a chair and your own beverage. Our speaker is Helen Engle who will provide a history of the Coyote Coulee loop trail system that was developed by her mother, Belle McGregor. Belle was instrumental in designing and developing this very popular trail system. Please join us for an informative and enjoyable evening. Bitter Root Back Country Horsemen’s third project of 2026 takes place at the popular Larry Creek Trail System on Saturday, June 6, National Trails Day. Project volunteers will clean water bars and perform annual maintenance that includes removing trees and debris from trails and cutting back overhanging limbs and foliage. Project leader is Mary Odell, assisted by Brad Pollman. Lunch will be provided by Nancy and Brad Pollman. Members of the public should be aware that volunteers will be working on foot and on horseback throughout the trail system.
