Thank you My Furry Valentine adopters! After our final adoption counts from love connections made during the event and our satellite adoptions, our final adoption number for the 2026 event was 781. This puts us over our goal of 10,000 adoptions for our 15th year event. We couldn't have done it without you!

A Second Look for a Second Chance at Love! Thanks to everyone for such a great My Furry Valentine 2026 event. Hundreds of animals found their love connections, which is worth celebrating. There are still some great animals who attended the event and did not make their love connection, though, and we want to give them the Second Chance at Love they deserve. Please take a look at our online gallery (www.myfurryvalentine.com), which shows those animals still looking for their person/people. Consider going to meet these animals at their rescue/shelter, which can be seen by looking at their bio.

All of the dogs who attended My Furry Valentine showed up with hope in their hearts, ready to meet their people. While many found their families, 𝗺𝗮𝗻𝘆 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝘄𝗮𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗿𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗰𝗵 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝗮 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗺. 💖

🐾✨ Spotlight Animal: Toffee Teefer ✨🐾

Meet Toffee Teefer, available through Greater Humane Society of Dayton.

Toffee Teefer’s journey began in heartbreaking condition — found curled up on a porch, extremely thin and clearly having endured a difficult road. She was one of the skinniest dogs the team had ever seen. But even in those fragile moments, her sweet spirit never stopped shining. Beneath it all was a loving heart just waiting for a second chance. 💛

Now safe and receiving the care she deserves, Toffee Teefer’s true personality is blooming. She’s wiggly, happy, and incredibly affectionate — her whole body lights up when she gets attention. She gently takes treats, is eager to learn, and brings joyful energy wherever she goes.

She’s currently enrolled in training classes through the START program with the Dayton Dog Training Club and is already mastering new skills! She knows “sit,” happily “downs” when you’re low to the ground, loves playing “get it” and “come,” and can spin and turn like a pro. She’s working hard on polishing her manners, too.

With her resilience, loving heart, and enthusiasm for life, Toffee Teefer would be a fun and devoted addition to a home ready to continue her journey. Could you be the one to give her the forever she deserves? 💛
