LET'S TURN DIGITAL SKILLS INTO NEW BEGINNINGS

A displaced person may have lost a home, a job, or a source of income—but they should never lose the opportunity to build a new future.

At Refugee Relief Initiative (RRI) Nigeria, we are raising ₦26,000,000 to train 1,000 refugees, IDPs, and vulnerable youth in digital content creation and other practical digital skills.

We believe that with the right training, a young person with a smartphone can become a content creator, video editor, graphic designer, social media manager, digital marketer, or freelancer.

This campaign is about more than teaching skills.

It is about restoring confidence.
It is about creating opportunities.
It is about building sustainable livelihoods.
It is about giving people the tools to become contributors to the digital economy.

💚 You can help us make it possible.

Donate whatever you can.

To every refugee, asylum seeker, IDP, this is another chance for you to come and show what you can do. Become the face of Nollywood.

The fight against human trafficking must continue beyond one day.

Days ago, I joined partners, advocates, and fellow changemakers in Lagos for the World Day Against Trafficking in Persons 2026 awareness activities, representing Refugee Relief Initiative (RRI).

But as the banners come down and the walk comes to an end, the responsibility remains.

Human trafficking thrives where there is poverty, misinformation, desperation, vulnerability, and silence. That is why prevention must go beyond awareness events. We must strengthen protection systems, educate communities, create livelihood opportunities, support safe migration, and ensure that vulnerable people have somewhere to turn when they are at risk.

For RRI, this is particularly important because refugees, displaced persons, migrants, women, children, and vulnerable young people can face heightened risks of exploitation.

My takeaway from the event is simple:

Awareness saves lives, but sustained action changes systems.

I am grateful to NAPTIP and IOM – UN Migration for bringing stakeholders together, and to everyone who continues to work toward a Nigeria where every person can live, move, work, and pursue their future without fear of exploitation.

The walk may be over. The work continues.

What if a smartphone could become a source of livelihood?

For many refugees, internally displaced persons, and vulnerable young people, a smartphone is not just a device. It can become a camera, a creative studio, a business tool, and a gateway to the digital economy.

But having the device is not enough. People need the skills.

That is why Refugee Relief Initiative (RRI) Nigeria is raising ₦26,000,000 to train 1,000 refugees, IDPs, and vulnerable youth in digital content creation and related income-generating skills.

Participants will learn practical skills including:

Content Creation | Videography | Photography | Graphic Design | Video Editing | Social Media Management | Digital Marketing | AI Tools | Freelancing

Our goal is simple: to equip people with skills they can use to create opportunities for themselves and their families.

We don't want to only respond to vulnerability.
We want to help people overcome it.

We don't want to create dependency.
We want to build self-reliance.

And we cannot do this alone.

If you believe that skills can change lives, stand with us.

Donate. Share. Partner. Sponsor a participant.

Every contribution brings us closer to training 1,000 people.

Standing Together Against Human Trafficking

Today, I had the privilege of representing the Refugee Relief Initiative (RRI), at the 2026 World Day Against Trafficking in Persons organized by NAPTIP in partnership with IOM – UN Migration.

Human trafficking is not just a crime—it is a grave violation of human rights that destroys lives, separates families, and robs people of their dignity and future. Refugees, asylum seekers, migrants, women, children, and vulnerable youth are among those most at risk.

It was inspiring to stand alongside government agencies, UN partners, civil society organizations, development partners, and passionate advocates as we marched through the streets of Lagos, raising public awareness and calling for collective action to end human trafficking.

Beyond the awareness walk, the event created valuable opportunities to engage with stakeholders, exchange ideas, and strengthen partnerships that are essential in preventing trafficking and protecting vulnerable communities.

At Refugee Relief Initiative (RRI), we remain committed to:

Protecting refugees, asylum seekers, IDPs, and other vulnerable populations.

Promoting safe migration and preventing exploitation.

Supporting survivors through protection and referral pathways.

Building partnerships that create lasting solutions to human trafficking.

Ending human trafficking is not the responsibility of governments alone. It requires collaboration among civil society, international organizations, the private sector, communities, and every individual willing to speak up against exploitation.

If you see something suspicious, report it. If you have influence, use it to educate others. Together, we can help ensure that no one is left vulnerable to trafficking.

Thank you to NAPTIP and IOM – UN Migration for bringing stakeholders together for this important cause. I look forward to strengthening our collaboration in advancing protection, dignity, and hope for those most at risk.
