💙 FOREVER TYLER — A LOVE THAT NEVER ENDS 💙 20 yrs today

There are some people who leave footprints on your heart so deep that no amount of time can ever erase them. Tyler Richardson is one of those people.

Twenty years have passed, but for those who loved Tyler, there are moments when it feels like yesterday. His smile, his laugh, his personality, the memories, and the love we shared with him will forever be a part of who we are.

For his mom, Ann, there will always be a piece of her heart that belongs to her son. No mother should ever have to experience the pain of losing a child. Yet through that unimaginable loss, Ann has continued to carry Tyler’s memory, his love, and his legacy forward.

For his brother, Nathan, Tyler will always be more than a memory. He is his brother, his family, and a part of the story that made Nathan who he is today. The bond between brothers doesn't disappear when one is gone. It simply becomes something we carry in our hearts.

And then life gave our family another beautiful blessing.

Natylie was brought into our lives. đź’™

She became a light in a family that had known so much darkness. She gave us new reasons to smile, new memories to make, and another reason to keep moving forward. In so many ways, Natylie became part of the torch Tyler left behind—and she helps us carry that torch into the future.

That is what Tyler’s legacy has become.

The Tyler Richardson Foundation was born from heartbreak, but it has grown through love. Through Tyler’s family, his friends, Tyler’s Army, and everyone who has stood beside us, his name continues to bring people together and make a difference in the lives of others.

Every charity helped.
Every family touched.
Every friendship created.
Every memory shared.
Every person who says Tyler’s name.

That is his legacy.

We don't have to forget the sadness to celebrate the life Tyler gave us. We can miss him terribly and still smile when we remember him. We can cry for the years we never got while being grateful for every moment we did.

Tyler should be here. That will always be the hardest truth.

But because of the love he left behind, Tyler is still here in so many ways.

He is in Ann's heart.
He is in Nathan's heart.
He is in Natylie, who helps carry that torch forward.
He is in his family and friends.
He is in Tyler's Army.
And he is in every life touched by The Tyler Richardson Foundation.

Tyler, your story didn't end when your life did.

Your story continues through all of us.

We will keep loving you.
We will keep saying your name.
We will keep telling your stories.
We will keep carrying your torch.

And most importantly…

We will keep making sure the world knows Tyler Richardson. đź’™

Our family have started this post about a hundred different times, and honestly, I still don’t know if there are words big enough for what I’m feeling.

After 20 years, we are getting ready to play the final 18 holes of the Tyler’s Cup.

Twenty years.

When we lost Tyler, I never could have imagined where this journey would take our family. I certainly never imagined that something born from the worst pain we had ever experienced would grow into something that would touch so many lives.

The truth is, I would give anything to have Tyler back.

I would give anything to hear his voice, see his smile, watch him grow up, and have the chance to make all the memories we never got to make.

But since we couldn't change what happened, we made a promise.

We would make sure Tyler mattered.
We would make sure Tyler was remembered.
And we would make sure his life continued to help others.

For 20 years, you have helped us keep that promise.

The Tyler’s Cup became so much more than a golf outing. It became a gathering of people who loved Tyler, loved our family, and believed in what we were trying to do.

And through all of you, The Tyler Richardson Foundation has been able to help more than 59 charities along their journey.

I think about Tyler’s older brother Nathan a lot during moments like this. Nathan lost his little brother, but he never stopped carrying him. He has always been his brother’s protector, and I know that part of him will carry Tyler forever.

And then there is Natylie.

After Tyler was gone, life gave our family another beautiful reason to keep moving forward. Natylie brought new life, love, laughter, and hope into our family.

She didn't take Tyler's place.

Nobody ever could.

She simply became part of the story our family continued to write after Tyler.

And that means more to me than I could ever explain.

As I look back at 20 years of Tyler’s Cups, I don't think about the scorecards or the golf shots.

I think about the people.

The hugs.

The laughs.

The tears.

The friendships.

The people who showed up year after year because they believed in Tyler and believed in us.

I think about Tyler’s Army.

I think about our Foundation H.O.F. members and every person who has carried Tyler's name with pride.

And I think about how many people who never even had the chance to meet Tyler somehow came to love him.

That is his legacy.

So this final Tyler’s Cup is going to be emotional for me.

I'm sure there will be tears.

But there will also be smiles, laughter, stories, and a whole lot of love.

Because Tyler deserves to be celebrated.

This isn't just the end of a golf tournament.

For me, it's the closing of a chapter that has been a huge part of our family's life for 20 years.

But it is not the end of Tyler's story.

His story lives in Nathan.

His story lives in Natylie.

His story lives in our family.

His story lives in Tyler’s Army.

His story lives in every charity we've helped.

And his story lives in every person who still says his name.

To everyone who has been part of this journey, from the bottom of my heart…

Thank you.

Thank you for loving Tyler.

Thank you for loving our family.

Thank you for showing up.

Thank you for believing in us.

And thank you for helping us turn the greatest loss of our lives into something that has helped so many other people.

The final 18 holes are coming.

And when I take that last shot, I'll probably be thinking about a little boy who should be standing beside me today.

I'll look around and know that even though Tyler isn't physically here…

he is everywhere.

And he always will be.

20 years.
59+ charities.
Countless memories.
One son.
One brother.
One family.
One incredible legacy.

Tyler, we love you.
We miss you.
And we will never stop carrying you with us.

So many moments over the past few weeks. As we are winding down our scholarships have been chosen. Our annual charity commitments are in process. We will of course be supporting the Butler County Fair kids. As we have helped over 58 charities over 20 yrs we have 1 final charity to support this year. More news to come
