CASA volunteers partner with caseworkers, attorneys, and judges to keep a child’s best interest at the center of every decision, even as the child welfare system changes. 👏 While roles may shift over time due to turnover or large caseloads, CASA volunteers remain a STEADY presence in a child's life and are there for every major milestone. 💙 In 1988, Lisa Farthing said “yes” to becoming a CASA Volunteer, and Butler County children have been better because of it ever since.

Lisa took her very first case on October 25, 1988, and has since advocated for more than 30 children and 10 families throughout her incredible journey with CASA.

Her compassion, dedication, and unwavering commitment to children have made a lasting impact on countless lives.

Children entering foster care face deeper trauma and often have greater mental health needs than their peers. ❤️‍🩹 Up to 80% of children in foster care experience significant mental health challenges, compared to roughly 20% of children in the general population.

CASA volunteers connect children and youth to the support services they need and partner with caregivers + caseworkers to schedule routine check-ups, specialist visits, and therapy sessions — ultimately helping ensure their mental health needs don’t fall through the cracks.
