Our old vs New world tasting was interesting. Wines from France included 2021 Domaine La Clef du Recit Sancerre, a 2021 Fler de Mer Provence Rose', and a 2016 Chateau Greysac Medoc. Comparable wines included a 2022 Honig Sauvignon Blanc from Napa, a 2018 Willow Mountain Rose' from Corvallis, Montana, and the 2016 Ferrari-Carano Tresor from Napa.

The highest scoring wine was the Tresor, closely followed by the Sancerre. Both were outstanding.

This was a blind tasting with the USA wines just edging out the French wines total scores.

Of note were the Willow Mountain Rose' having a slight unexpected effervescent, and the Chateau Greysac Medoc showing some browning in the glass that reduced their scores.

Our next tasting will compare old world (Europe) vs new world wines. The date is April 15th. Should be fun!

Hello wine lovers!
The January 21st tasting is a Six Bottle Master Classto Sparkling Wines! Based on Lauren Mowery`s Wine Enthusiast Magazine article of the same name, we'll compare offerings from Champagne France, California's North Coast, Germany, France`s Loire Valley, and Italy.

This will be a blind tasting. 2 wines will be poured at the same time. Atendees will taste both and decide which is which. Is the bubbly from France or California. Germany or. Loire, and so on.

Sparkling wines are very food friendly so we'll pair some food with each set of pours. We'll have some fun while learning the various methods for making Sparklers!
