I went to see the Frederick Keys game tonight, celebrating my nephew's birthday. The first surprise was seeing that the opponent was the Trenton Thunder. The next surprise was seeing former Lou Gehrig Prep Fall Ball player Chris Reeder was catching for Trenton. My final surprise was seeing Chris' dad, Dave at the game.
He let me know Chris had graduated from TCNJ and won a Gold Glove for D3 catcher.
Good luck to Chris as he pursues an opportunity to play professional baseball.

We have lost another member of the Lou Gehrig family, as Coach Ken Hunt passed away on Thursday. The Hunt family was a big part of Lou Gehrig, with Matt and Chris playing almost every year between 2003 and 2014, while Brianna was one of our Official Scorekeepers.
Ken was always willing to help out, as a Manager, Coach, and even a Team Sponsor.
Please keep Lucia, Matt, Chris and Brianna in your prayers.

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of former coach Tom Eubanks. Tom and his wife Sharon made a large impact on the league during their years at Lou Gehrig.

Tom's son Jeremy was not only a player but managed after he aged out of the league. Tom continued on as his assistant. A true baseball family.

View Thomas R. Eubanks's obituary, contribute to their memorial, see their funeral service details, and more.

Most parents sincerely believe they're helping their child when they're shouting out instructions from the sidelines. But they're not. Here are 4 reasons why parents sideline coaching is hurting youth basketball.

Some people have enviable office locations and then there is Mike Maconi, the Phillies official scorer. It would be hard to find a more maligned group of tradesmen than umpires at the youth and high school level. It’s become sport for parents, fans, coaches and even players to ride umpires for eve...
