Join us in welcoming Bailee to the Fixing Fathers family! 🌟 She just received our $500 Pocket Change Award for her incredible impact on our community.

Bailee is a true force for good. As President of the Black and Hispanic Student Union and co-founder of Key Club International at Hamden High School, she helps empower students and fosters unity through service. She also explores future careers alongside her peers as an active member of the Health Professions Club.

Her dedication does not stop there. Between clocking in at her part-time job, attending church, and serving her community, Bailee stays focused on building meaningful connections.

Her future is incredibly bright. She is heading to Northeastern University to pursue her BSN, with ambitious plans to earn a doctorate in midwifery and open her own private practice.

We cannot wait to see all the amazing things you will accomplish, Bailee!

I want to extend a heartfelt thank you to the incredible voters of Hamden's First District. Your dedication to our community is truly inspiring. Braving the blistering cold last week to cast your ballots shows just how much you care about the future of Hamden. I was out at 5:30 AM and was moved by the commitment of every person I met.

A special thank you to the members of Row A. I am proud to work alongside such dedicated individuals and promise to represent our district with integrity and focus.

Mikia's wonderful work helping our girls stay beautiful while building up their confidence and morale speaks volumes. Her mission aligns perfectly with our Impactful Cuts program, and we know our brilliant girls can't be stopped under her love and care. Our Impactful Cuts program is dedicated to uplifting young girls by providing them with professional styling, mentorship, and a supportive community—all designed to nurture confidence, self-worth, and a bright future. Through this program, we offer more than just haircuts; we create meaningful experiences and lasting positive change.

Look at these sharp new haircuts! 💈✨

We had an incredible week boosting confidence and fresh looks for young men in our community. Thanks to the amazing teamwork between Big E’s Barbershop, Fixing Fathers, Inc., Reliant Behavioral Health and Community Services, DCF, Street to Straight, and our generous donors, these boys got the VIP treatment they deserve.

Grooming isn’t just about looking good—it’s about feeling good. Teaching the importance of self-care early helps build the self-esteem and pride needed to navigate the world with confidence.

But we didn’t stop at haircuts. ♟️

Each boy also went home with their very own chess set. Just like a fresh cut prepares you for the day, chess prepares you for life. It teaches patience, strategy, and the critical thinking skills needed to make the right moves, on and off the board.

(They look good! They feel good! They are good!)

Yesterday, we had the incredible opportunity to deliver gifts to the amazing students at King Robinson Magnet School in New Haven. What a joy it is to give freely, knowing that it’s all made possible by the trust and support of our community.

This Christmas has been truly special, allowing Fixing Fathers, Inc. to expand our impact through programs like our Rental Assistance Program and Basic Needs Program—helping families in ways we couldn’t in previous years.
