I'm excited that New Haven Harbor, our monitoring assignment for River Advocates of South Central CT, got a B+ in water quality this year! That's an improvement over the C+ in 2023!

Save the Sound released its latest Long Island Sound Report Card for water quality in towns like New Haven, Bridgeport, Norwalk and more.

I am sad for the Olympic swimmers in the Seine River in Paris. Local rules allow them to swim "safely" if the bacteria count does not exceed 900 colony forming units per 100 ml water. In CT, our clean water standards are much more stringent:
Using E. coli as a marker (freshwater indicator of sewage or animal waste contamination)
