The cutest fundraiser of the year is almost here! 🐾📚

The Greater New Haven Literary Pets Photo Contest runs from June 5–June 27, and it is exactly as fun as it sounds.

Enter your dog, cat, bunny, bird, or other beloved bookish companion for a chance to win a spot in the 2027 Literary Pets Wall Calendar — the top 12 pets will be featured! — all while supporting Boundless Literacy’s work with young readers in New Haven public schools.

And this year’s grand prize is pretty amazing: the top pet wins a Pet Portrait Experience with Sara Huber of Paw Print Studio, including a planning session, private studio photoshoot, and two included images.

It is a joyful, adorable, slightly competitive, very worthwhile way to support students as they build the skills and confidence that come with learning to read.

The contest opens June 5, so now is the time to get your pet’s best photo ready. Your cat, dog, bunny, bird, or beloved bookish companion could win a spot in the 2027 Literary Pets Wall Calendar (just like each of these beauties did last year).

The winning entry will also receive an exclusive pet portrait experience with award-winning photographer, Sara Huber of in West Hartford. And every entry and vote supports Boundless Literacy’s work with young readers in New Haven public schools.

A huge thank you to everyone who gave, shared, encouraged, and helped spread the word during The Great Give.

Because of this community, Boundless Literacy had our strongest Great Give ever: $9,182 raised from 76 donors — 91% of our goal.

Most importantly, that generosity helps make daily, structured literacy support possible for children working hard to become confident readers.
