On Memorial Day, we remember those who never got to take off the uniform.
On Memorial Day, we remember those who have said their last goodbye.
On Memorial Day, we think of the wives & husbands that have lost spouses, parents who have lost children, children who have lost parents, and veterans that have lost comrades.
These are the people who will never forget what Memorial Day means.
On Memorial Day, we remember the cost of war and understand the meaning of sacrifice.
So enjoy this long weekend. But while you're shopping, grilling, and relaxing, take a moment to reflect on all of the men and women who, since 1775, have been killed while answering our nation's call to serve.

Last week on Monday, September 9th we hosted the 8th annual Tee It Up for the Troops event at Wanakah Country Club.
Thank you to our sponsors, patrons, volunteers, committee members and most importantly the veterans, active duty, and gold and blue star families who were in attendance.
We are immensely proud to host an event to honor all the brave men and women who have served our country!

Many of you were not shown the gratitude you deserve for all that you have sacrificed, and while it is overdue, we want to extend to you our deepest gratitude, respect, and appreciation for answering when our nation called.
To all who returned home, WELCOME HOME.
And to those who fell, you are not forgotten.

Tee It Up for the Troops believes in engaging and inspiring communities across the United States to do great things on behalf of the military men and women who have served and sacrificed so much for our freedoms. Tee It Up for the Troops combines golf events with an inspirational ceremony, instilling a sense of pride, honor, respect and appreciation for all those who have served and given so greatly.
The Membership and Organizing Committee at Wanakah Country Club was proud to host the first Tee It Up for the Troops golf event in the great state of New York, in support of its mission to serve veterans, current members of the military and their families.
In addition to providing financial support for key national partners of Tee It Up for the Troops such as Fisher House Foundation and Warfighter Sports (a division of Disabled Sports USA), the Organizing Committee for our Wanakah Country Club event has also proudly donated to many local veterans support organizations including:
Buffalo Healthcare for Homeless Veterans (HCHV), an office of the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, providing emergency, transitional and permanent housing options to homeless Veterans and their families throughout the 8 counties of WNY, a primary care clinic for Veterans, as well as vocational services,
Veterans One-stop Center of WNY, Inc., bringing people, organizations, and resources together to effectively improve the well-being of all Western New York Veterans of the U.S. Armed Forces and their immediate families through barrier-free access to services they need to complete the transition to civilian life and achieve their goals and full potential, and
PGA HOPE (Helping Our Patriots Everywhere), a year round golf program for all military Veterans, designed to enhance their rehabilitation and assimilation back into society.
Through the passionate efforts of the club owners, management, a dedicated team of volunteers, and a loyal group of local sponsors and golfers, we are very proud of the mighty tradition that has been developed at Wanakah as we look to support these American heroes!
