🌞Summer break is almost here!

You know what moms love to hear all summer long?

✅"I'm hungry!"
✅"Can I have a snack?"
✅"I'm STILL hungry!"
✅"There's nothing to eat!"

Sadly, we're just about out of crackers and mac & cheese, two of our most requested items during the summer months. If you're out shopping this week, consider tossing an extra box of crackers or mac & cheese into your cart for the pantry. These are two of the most requested items by families with children home for the summer.

You can drop off donations at our outreach office, located at 36 Pine Street in the village of Hamburg. We're open Monday-Thursday from 9:00AM-4:00PM to accept donations.

This Saturday is an easy way to make a big difference right here in our community! 💙

The annual Letter Carriers Food Drive is happening, and all you have to do is leave non-perishable food by your mailbox before your mail is delivered. Your letter carrier, alongside our volunteers, will take care of the rest. And even better? All food donated stays right here in Hamburg to help families in need.

After the incredible generosity we've seen with the purse drive, we know this community shows up when it matters. Let's keep that going.

Most needed items:
Canned vegetables, fruit, and soup
Pasta, rice, and pasta and rice sides
Peanut butter and jelly
Shelf-stable snacks
Toiletries are ALWAYS welcome as well

Every single bag helps a neighbor. It really is that simple. So set a reminder now, gather a few items, and leave them out this Saturday morning. It adds up fast.

We are so grateful to partner with the Town of Hamburg Police Department’s Domestic Violence Office to get these purses into the hands of those who truly need them.

This was our first round of donations, and every single purse was filled thanks to the generosity of our incredible community. From hygiene products to small comforts, each item was donated with care and compassion for someone starting over.

To everyone who contributed, shared, donated, or supported this effort in any way, thank you. Your kindness is making a real difference for individuals who often leave everything behind in order to find safety.

We’re proud to be part of a community that shows up for one another. More to come soon. 💙

We are incredibly grateful to Saints Peter and Paul Church for their generous donation of purses filled with personal hygiene items. 💖 These thoughtful gifts will be provided to victims of domestic violence through our Domestic Violence Office. Many of these individuals leave their homes with nothing but the clothes on their backs in search of safety. Your kindness will help ease their transition and remind them that they are not alone. We cannot thank our community enough for their generous contributions to this worthy cause. Seriously, you all have been amazing. There are a few affordable items left on our registry, so we thought we'd repost the Amazon Wishlist one more time in case you wanted to contribute but missed our previous posts. We plan on assembling next week and getting these beautiful purses out to women who absolutely need the love from their neighbors to lift them up.

Our purse drive is off to a great start! Thank you to our generous donors so far. Our plan has expanded to offering them to Hamburg mothers in need as well as to supply them to DV shelters and advocates.

We still need gently used or new medium to large-sized purses, wallets, and makeup bags/zippered pouches.

We also would love help filling them! We set aside donations that make sense to fill a purse as they come in, but the amount is small. We're looking for donations to fill at least 30 of these purses. During April, we’re launching a Purses with Purpose drive for mothers right here in Hamburg who need a little pick-me-up for Mother’s Day.

We’re collecting gently used or new:
• Purses (think day bag size)
• Wallets
• Makeup and toiletry bags (zipper style, to hold toiletries)

We’re also inviting our community to help fill these bags with essential items like hygiene products, self-care items, and small everyday necessities. Sign up here to donate items to help fill a purse:

This is a simple way to help a mom feel supported, seen, and cared for.

Donations can be dropped off or mailed to our outreach office at 36 Pine Street, Hamburg, NY, 14075. If you need evening or weekend hours, send us a message, and we’ll give you an address in Hamburg to drop them off at. Please have all donations returned by April 30, so we can pack and prepare the purses by Mother’s Day.

As you’re shopping for game-day food and snacks, please consider adding a few extra cans of soup 🥣 to your cart. Soup is one of the most requested items at the pantry, especially during winter. ❄️

If you’re hosting a Super Bowl get-together, we have a simple challenge for you.
Ask each guest to bring a can or two of soup for the pantry.

🎉 Community Shoutout! 🎉

The amazing 4th grade students at Union Pleasant Elementary School (Hamburg Central School District) truly showed what teamwork and kindness look like.

They rallied together and donated 103 boxes of cereal to help fill the shelves at our pantry. To celebrate, they even set up an epic domino chain and we're lucky enough to see it captured on video.

Thank you to these incredible students, their teachers, and families for turning generosity into action. Because of you, local families will start their mornings with a little more hope and a lot more breakfast. 💙🥣
