Hamburg Oktoberfest Returns, Honoring Original Committee Member Jeff Biehler
Hamburg, NY — After announcing its closure in 2025 following 18 incredible years, many believed Hamburg Oktoberfest had poured its final pint. But the story isn’t over...
In an exciting turn, several of the festival’s original founders are bringing Oktoberfest back for a special one-day revival event—set for September 19, 2026, at Memorial Park from 2:00 PM to 11:00 PM.
This comeback is being led by members of the original organizing committee, including Michael Scherer, the originator of Hamburg Oktoberfest, alongside fellow founding members Luke Mumbach, Dan Della Vella and Jason Lezark, who helped build the festival into a Western New York favorite.
“Our goal from day one was simple—bring people together,” said Scherer. “Oktoberfest has always been about great music, authentic German food, cold drinks, and a strong sense of community. We’re proud and excited to bring that energy back to Hamburg.”
This year’s event will carry even deeper meaning. The 2026 Hamburg Oktoberfest will be dedicated to the memory of Jeff Biehler of Biehler Liquors, a founding committee member whose early support and belief in the festival helped shape its success.
“Jeff believed in this from the very beginning,” organizers shared. “He was a big part of what made Oktoberfest what it became, and it only feels right that this comeback event is in his honor.”
The revived festival will stay true to its roots—featuring live music, traditional German food, local vendors, a car show, and the welcoming, high-energy atmosphere that made Hamburg Oktoberfest a can’t-miss event for nearly two decades.
Additional founding members and longtime volunteers are already stepping forward to be part of the revival, with more announcements on sponsors, entertainment, and ways to get involved coming soon.
Mark your calendars. Spread the word. Hamburg Oktoberfest is back—bigger, more meaningful, and ready to bring the community together once again...
