It is hard to believe it is November and we are still working on obtaining some of the chairs for the Hamburg Chair Project. We thought we would be done by May but that didn’t happen. Believe it or not we are still waiting for delivery of nine of the chairs. We expect delivery of those chairs in the next 1-2 weeks. As soon as we have the chairs, the dedication plates will be installed and they will be placed in the Village.

Below is a list of locations for the Chairs we do have:

Again, we very much appreciate your support of this project and your patience as we continue to obtain the balance of the chairs.

Sincerely,
Eric, Paul and Dan

The generous nature of people from Hamburg continues to amaze. After a very short period of time we have exceeded expectations on the sponsorship for Adirondack chairs; so much so that we no longer will be accepting chair sponsorships.

Our deepest THANKS to all that have donated to the project; we sincerely appreciate your contributions!!! For those that had planned to give, thank you and we’re sorry that the opportunity has passed. Perhaps we will be back next year to add more chairs to our walkable business district and other public spaces.

Look for the beautiful, colorful chairs to start appearing in our wonderful village late this spring.

Following is a list of FAQs we have received and answered about The Hamburg Chair Project. Thank you for your interest and support! ☀️☀️☀️

➡️ What is the Hamburg Chair Project?
The Hamburg Chair Project is an initiative to put more seating in the Village of Hamburg Business corridors along Buffalo, Main and Lake Streets. In addition to promoting walkability and the businesses along the Village Business Corridors, we hope to add some color and interest to the Village.

➡️ What is the project's backstory?
For the Fair Food and Fun event that was held last summer by the Village Business Advisory Council (VBAC), VBAC member Eric Adams of Picture Your Walls Custom Framing and More arranged to have the Adirondack Chairs from Memorial Park moved into the Village's Central Business District. During the event, the Adirondack Chairs proved to be quite popular and Eric thought it would be great to have Adirondack Chairs in the Village Business District permanently. He enlisted the help of Paul Gaughan and Dan Rosati and the Hamburg Chair Project was born.

➡️ Who is running this project?
Village citizens; Eric Adams, Paul Gaughan and Dan Rosati are running this project in cooperation with the Village of Hamburg.

➡️ Why Adirondack Chairs?
Adirondack chairs were chosen as a supplement to the existing seating in the Village's business corridors along Buffalo, Main and Lake Streets. During the state reconstruction of Routes 62 and 391 a number of benches were added to the Village business corridors. The intention is to add an alternative seating option to the existing benches and to enhance the walkability of the Village by having other seating options.

➡️ What are the preferred chair locations?
Preferred locations are along the business corridors of the Village on Buffalo, Main and Lake Streets. However, all suggested locations will be considered.

➡️ What about placing a chair in a Village Park such as Parkside Park?
Parkside Park was recently upgraded with new walkways, seating and lighting. Other Village parks also contain a good amount seating. We would prefer to focus on the business corridors along Buffalo, Main and Lake Streets. However, all suggested locations will be considered.

➡️ If I cannot or do not want to sponsor a chair, how else can I help?
There are two other ways you can help support this project; 1. Make a cash donation payable to Hamburg Village Community Foundation, Attn: Jason C***a, 100 Main St, Hamburg, NY 14075. 2. Spread the word about the project on social media and throughout the community.

➡️ Where does the money go?
This is not a fundraising project. The sole purpose is to place Adirondack Chairs throughout the Village of Hamburg business corridors along Buffalo, Main and Lake Streets. Every dollar collected will be used to add more chairs.

➡️ What is the time frame of this project?
We will take orders for chairs for as long as we receive them but not beyond the summer of 2021. Chairs will be ordered from the supplier on a regular basis and will have a lead time of 8 to 12 weeks. So get your orders in ASAP so the chairs can be enjoyed this summer!!!
