Just wanted to update everyone on some of our work being done. I just got back from Washington DC advocating for legislation that would allow Medicare to cover blood test to make a diagnosis of Alzheimer’s.

What a meaningful and critical piece of legislation that we need in our community! Here are a few of my favorite pictures from DC. I hope you enjoy them and know that each time I travel each of you go with me💜

I have been trying to make myself write this post for a long time and still am in total shock and disbelief I’m making it……

On behalf of our Walk The Block family, we would like to extend our prayers to the family of one of our own Angie Allmand. Angie was a force in our community. She served in many capacities and was most well known for her service to the Republican Party.

When I started the idea of a walk, Angie was one of the first people that supported me. She was quick to remind me not to listen to those who would tell me why it wouldn’t work but always remember the reason I wanted to do it in the first place. As my work grew, so did her support.

Angie, you will always be a part of my work. I will cherish our long talks and your advice about being the best advocate for Alzheimer’s in TN. Some of my favorite childhood memories will always have you, Myrt, and Lynwood’s etched in them. I am better for knowing you and having your support. We will miss you dearly💜

Don’t forget our Bake Sale March 28th at Mayo's Flower Shop! See you there if not before.

Did you know that Tennessee is home to some of the nation’s Top 100 Individual Fundraisers for the 2025 Walk to End Alzheimer's? We're in awe of Amy Gammel ( #90) and Wes Milligan ( #4), and we're so fortunate to count them among our local supporters, volunteers, board members and friends.

Wes raised an astonishing $160,435 for the Memphis Walk in 2025, surpassing $750,000 toward his lifetime fundraising goal of $1,000,000. And Amy raised an impressive $28,105 through an annual community event in Halls that supports the Jackson Walk.

Congratulations to you both! 👏 And thank you for channeling your passion for this cause into such impactful fundraising for Alzheimer's research, care and support.
