Our mission is the preservation and sharing of local Halifax history to benefit those generations of the past, present and future.

The Museum is open for tours by appointment only. Board meetings are held the second Tuesday of the month. The Halifax Area Historical Society records and ecucates regarding a small town and the neighboring farms and communities in rural Pennsylvania. The history they archive is a rich resource for those fortunate enough to live in the area, regardless of their roots, but especially if they have any family connections locally.

Christmas...and BELSNICKEL...are almost here!! 🎄 Save the date for Central PA's most unique festival hosting a spectacular array of food, family fun, bonfires, smores, history, music, hot drinks, arts and crafts, our signature Belsnickel Market Village, and SO MUCH MORE. We can't wait to kick off the holiday season with you and yours December 5th right here in Halifax, PA, at the Youth Center here in town!! ❄️☃️

Part II of the FANTASTIC patriotic party at The Historic Peter Allen House on September 12! 🇺🇸 It was an honor to be welcomed as a part of this event and we would like to thank Frank, Barbara, and all of the Peter Allen House staff for hosting us; it was a 250th celebration to be remembered!

Part I of the EXPLOSIVE second day of celebration at the The Historic Peter Allen House for the 250th of our great nation and the 300th of the Peter Allen House itself! From beautiful colonial attire and minuets to food and fireworks long into the night, this was a party of HISTORICAL proportions! 🇺🇸

The Taylor's One-Room Schoolhouse "School Days" event is BACK! Join us for the second annual occasion on September 26 from 11am-2pm for a day filled with stories, interactive history, and family fun.

11:00- check out the recently restored Old Schoolhouse
11:30-12:30- participate in a classroom reenactment
12:30- recess games
1:00-2:00- ice cream & refreshments
