Ocean View Lodge 143 of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows values and actions center on friendship, love and truth.

All people deserve respect, inclusion and freedom of expression. Our fundraisers benefit youth and those in need. To raise funds for our scholarships, we provide musical entertainment and special events in our magnificent Odd Fellows Hall.

Mark your calendars: Sunday, November 15, 4:30 p.m. Foot Notes Jazz is a San Francisco Bay Area jazz ensemble that showcases contemporary and original music classics.

The group performs the music of contemporary writers such as Gordon Goodwin, Tom Kubis and Vince Mendoza in addition to classics from Thad Jones, Duke Ellington and Sammy Nestico. Footnotes also features original sounds by some local Bay Area composers such as Wayne Wallace, Rick Walsh, Tod Dickow, Howard Cespedes and their own pianist Paul Mernyk.

Footnotes Jazz rose from the ashes of the Foothill College Big Band program after budget cuts dismantled the music program. The members of the Foothill Evening ensemble renamed and reconvened as an independent group, Footnotes Jazz.

Coming up soon! Saturday, October 31, 3:30 p.m., a Halloween live concert featuring two Brazilian bands on tour. Come dressed in your best "fantasía" (costume in Portuguese) for a costume contest!!

Orlas is a Brazilian father-and-son musical project blending classic Brazilian sounds with modern groove-driven samba-jazz, bossa nova, and disco-funk. Tagua Tagua, led by São Paulo songwriter and producer Felipe Puperi, moves between Brazilian psychedelia, tropical soul, disco, and hazy guitar pop—loose, melodic, and built for the stage.

For this special tour, both artists will share the stage in a seamless, collaborative musical journey merging Orlas's intergenerational coastal grooves with Tagua Tagua’s energetic, psychedelic pop.

Before and after the show, listen to DJ Alex Pasternak playing Brazilian Vinyl.

Tonight’s Cemetery Stroll was informative, as usual, with members and guests adding personal stories to the history of our town’s founders. Held at Odd Fellows Cemetery on Highway 92, those attending learned about Frank Hancock, Sybil Unis Easterday Paulsen, Galen Wolf, Rufus Hatch, Charles Schuyler, James Johnston and Robert Knapp.

Our traditional Cemetery Stroll Highway 92 involves telling stories of our community members who are buried there.
5 p.m. Meet and greet. Commence walk at 6 p.m. just before sunset. Please wear sturdy shoes and bring your headlamp or flashlight.
We encourage carpooling as there are only a dozen or so parking places within the Cemetery entered through the arched gate.

TONIGHT!!!! Sunday, October 25, 5:00 p.m.: The Nightclub of the Living Dead, presented by the Coastside Pride Chorus.

The 2026 Emmys just took place, so we are honoring stars of television who have passed away. Come join Debbie Reynolds, Eva Gabor, Caroline Jones, Leonard Nimoy, the Golden Girls, the Cat in the Hat and more as they share with you their lives in the hereafter. Your host is none other than Liberace, for laughs, tears, and some scary (intentional and not) adventures.

The event includes our annual spooky silent auction where you can find great deals on everything from art and massages to haircuts and w**e. Please bid and bid often. You've been warned!

Come in costume if you dare! Not recommended for young children, but the choice is yours.

Tickets are $25 in advance or at the door. Last year's show sold out, so don't delay until it's too late for regrets.

TONIGHT! Vintage Film Nights: Timeless Fun, 7:30 p.m. Come for an evening with a vintage episode from the kitsch sci-fi Flash Gordon serial and two silent films classic comedies starring Buster Keaton—with live piano accompaniments composed and performed by the talented Shauna Pickett-Gordon.
FLASH GORDON Chapter Eight: "The Fiery Abyss"
"The Cook" 1918: Fatty Arbuckle is the head chef at the "Bull Pup" restaurant where Buster Keaton serves as the head waiter.
"The Balloonatic" 1923: Buster and Phyllis endure a number of outdoor adventures trying to prove to each other their survival skills.

TONIGHT: Thursday, October 22, 7 p.m.
Be an Insider! Open to the Public. The goal of the new 4th Thursday social gathering is to offer members and the community some "inside information" or a private story that only Odd Fellows and their guests have access to. Join us every month for The Inside Track. The doors open at 7 p.m. and the lodge provides dessert and coffee or tea.
CASA, an acronym for Court Appointed Special Advocates, is a nonprofit, state-wide organization that trains and oversees a group of volunteers who assist dependents of the Juvenile Court in navigating the often painful and confusing Court system. The volunteers’ services include mentoring in areas of education and personal needs, as well as communication with the social workers, attorneys and Judges in the system.

The Lodge’s Youth Services Committee and the HMB-ODD Foundation jointly host this presentation by CASA representatives who will describe the organization’s activities, goals and needs, with a focus on the specific problems facing youth who are on the verge of losing needed support as a result of “aging out” out of the dependency system.

The Odd Fellows is thrilled to host its second Songwriter’s Showcase—a special afternoon celebrating the art of original music. You’ll hear four talented local songwriters take the stage to share the songs they’ve poured their hearts into writing. Each artist gets 30 minutes in the spotlight, performing their original compositions solo or alongside a musician or two of their choosing. It’s an intimate, one-of-a-kind event you won’t want to miss! Showcase performers: Mike Landon, Hazel Brown, Karen Soo Hoo, and Randy Bales.
