Happy Father’s Day from Big Wave!

After a wonderful Community Farm Day, we gathered for a BBQ to celebrate the fathers, families, and friends who make our community so special.

Today, we want to give special recognition to the dads of adults with special needs. Your journey often requires extraordinary patience, resilience, advocacy, and unconditional love. As your children grow into adulthood, your support continues in countless ways that often go unseen but never go unappreciated.

Thank you for everything you do!! We’re grateful to celebrate you today and every day.

The OWLS hiking group of the Palo Alto Women’s Club enjoyed an exclusive behind-the-scenes tour of the Big Wave Center following their generous grant to help equip our Fitness & Recreation Room. We were delighted to share our vision for the space and the impact their support will have on future recreation and wellness opportunities for Bay Area adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Thank you to the Palo Alto Women's Club for helping make this exciting project possible!

Celebrating Dedication and Impact

Yesterday, the Parent Partner organization supporting our future tenant, One Step Beyond, Inc. (OSBI), hosted a special event to thank the dedicated OSBI staff.

A highlight of the celebration was the recognition of four team members who have dedicated more than 10 years of service to OSBI—a testament to the passion, consistency, and care that make the organization so special.
The event was made even more meaningful by the presence of Jeff Peck, founder of the Big Wave Project, and Mimi Rogers, founder of OSBI, whose vision and leadership helped create the strong community that continues to thrive today.

Congratulations to the honorees and thank you to all of the OSBI staff for the difference you make every day. We are proud to welcome OSBI as a future tenant of the Big Wave Project!

Welcoming San Mateo County Supervisor Jackie Speier to the Big Wave Center!
During her visit, Supervisor Speier learned more about our vision to create a place where adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities can live, learn, work, and connect.
The Big Wave Center will provide opportunities for continuing education, access to health and wellness programs, and community engagement for thousands of adults with special needs throughout the region. In addition, our residential area will offer housing for 40 adults with special needs, helping foster independence, inclusion, and lifelong friendships.

Thank you, Supervisor Speier, for taking the time to learn about our mission and the impact Big Wave will have on individuals and families across San Mateo County.
Together, we are building a more inclusive future. 💙

Earlier this week, we welcomed the City Manager and other members of the City of Half Moon Bay to the Big Wave Center for a tour. Thank you for taking the time to learn more about our mission and community. We look forward to partnering with you to create meaningful opportunities and strengthen our community together.

There’s something truly magical about evenings at the Big Wave Farm 🌊✨

Our firepit area is now glowing with beautiful string lights, creating a warm and welcoming space where our community can relax, connect, and enjoy the ocean breeze. Whether it’s sharing stories, roasting marshmallows, or simply soaking in the peaceful coastal air, this little corner of the farm has quickly become a favorite.
