Vehicles for Change

Vehicles for Change Its mission is to remove two major barriers to oppo We make any necessary repairs, handle all tax deductions, and deliver the vehicle to a family in need.

Vehicles for Change is a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping individuals and families achieve economic and personal independence through reliable transportation and automotive workforce training. HOW IT WORKS

Donations
Vehicles are donated through the generosity of individuals, as well as partnering corporations and nonprofit organizations. Once an individual or organization chooses to do

nate a vehicle, they will be contacted by a towing company, which will pick up the car within a week. Donating to Vehicles for Change is easy, convenient, and effective - your donation will have a direct impact on the families we serve. Repairs
After donation, Vehicles for Change determines if the car is repairable (keeper) based on the general condition, mileage, year, and make of the vehicle. Those deemed not repairable are sold at auction. Keepers are mechanically reviewed and repaired in the VFC garage, and then provided to a family in need. Tax Deduction
If your car is in good condition and can be awarded to one of our worthy families, you will receive the fair market value of your car for tax deduction. VFC is the one - if not the only car donation program in MD that can allow you to deduct the fair market value of your car. The average Kelly Blue Book value of cars awarded to recipients is $4,200. We were honored to have Dan Shine from Automotive News visit our Full Circle Auto Training Center and share the story of how our program is creating opportunities, transforming lives, and building brighter futures.

While it's a longer watch, even the first few minutes tell a powerful story about what happens when people are given the tools, support, and opportunity to build a better future.

From hands-on automotive training to career pathways and personal transformation, this program is helping create lasting change for individuals, families, and communities.

Yesterday, University of Maryland Medical Center (UMMC) leadership, Community Outreach, and team members from across the hospital, and our partners at Vehicles for Change came together at our downtown campus to recognize and celebrate the recipients of our second – ever UMMC Road to Relief Ceremony.

This initiative reflects UMMC’s commitment to supporting lives beyond hospital walls by helping our dedicated team members and their families gain reliable transportation and expanded access to opportunity.

Every day at Vehicles for Change, we see how reliable transportation can open the door to opportunity.

After months without dependable transportation, Ms. Debra is finally back on the road. Stories like hers remind us why we do this work every day: changing lives and creating hope.

Watch this 3-minute segment by Investigative Reporter Mallory Sofastaii at WMAR-2 News Baltimore to see how an unfortunate situation turned into a fresh start for Ms. Debra and how we were able to help get her back on the road.

We were honored to travel to Chicago last week to celebrate an incredible milestone for Kashi and Jabira!

Through our partnership with Constellation Energy, Chicago Women in Trades (CWIT), and alongside Hire 360 Partners, we were proud to help provide dependable vehicles to these inspiring women as they continue building successful careers in the trades.

Congratulations to Kashi and Jabira on this well-deserved achievement!

Thank you to everyone who made this special day possible and for investing in the future of hardworking women in the skilled trades.

People helping people. This is what community looks like.

On April 29th, Cheryl R. Hickox, Jim Ries, and Lori Connolly hosted the 4th Annual Nonprofit Showcase at Vehicles for Change, bringing together 15 incredible area nonprofits under one roof. It was a morning of connection, collaboration, and of course, coffee.

Every year this event gets bigger and bigger, highlighting the power of partnerships and the impact we can make when we come together to support one another.

Grateful for every organization, partner, and community member who showed up to make this event so meaningful. Thank you to mds photography for capturing these moments!
