Another road cleanup in the books!

Twice a year, 5B Anglers volunteers clean up Gannett Road and Kilpatrick Bridge Road to help keep our local areas and waterways clean.

Kilpatrick Bridge Road has historically been one of our cleanest adopted roads, so this fall's cleanup was eye-opening. With bridge construction underway, we've seen a noticeable increase in litter, more than we've ever collected along this stretch in our five years of caring for it.

As construction continues, we encourage everyone in the area to do their part to keep it clean and protect the places we all enjoy.

That's a wrap on our second week of Reel Kids Emergers!

Our newest group of anglers took on schedule changes, rain, wind, and everything in between. We traded our usual ice cream celebration for hot chocolate and instant coffee this week, but it was the perfect way to warm up after a memorable final day on the water.

Watching these anglers learn, and help one another was the best. A huge thank you to our incredible volunteers, our youth leaders for mentoring, and everyone who helped make this week possible. We couldn't do it without you!

What an awesome week with our first group of 2026 Reel Kids Emergers!

This group showed up with positive attitudes, encouraged one another, and weren't afraid to try something new. Over three days, they learned to cast, tied their own flies, made lanyards for their tools, explored aquatic insects with the ERC, learned fish anatomy through dissection, and spent plenty of time on the water putting their new skills into practice.

We're so proud of everything they accomplished and can't wait to see where their fly fishing adventures take them next.

A huge thank you to our incredible volunteers, guides, and partners who made this week possible! 👏

Leaders Day 2026 🎣

These six anglers have spent the past three years building their fly fishing, conservation, and leadership skills through 5B Anglers. It has been incredible to watch their confidence grow both on and off the water.

Congratulations to our Leaders Day participants on reaching this milestone! We’re excited to welcome them back this summer as mentors, helping teach and inspire the next generation of Reel Kids in our Emergers program.

From the foundations of fly casting all the way through Gold level skills, it was awesome to see our local members challenge themselves!

5B Anglers recently hosted casting classes using the Casting Skills Development Program.
