Sometimes the hardest part of asking for help is knowing where to turn.
September 28 is National Good Neighbor Day, and in Blaine County, being a good neighbor often means helping someone find the right door to knock on.
When you're facing a rent payment you can't make, an unexpected utility bill, a food shortage, or another financial challenge, there may be help available. But knowing which organization, program, or government resource can actually help can be confusing.
That's why we created our Community Resources page. It isn't a generic directory. It brings together organizations and programs people in our community actually use, from the Hunger Coalition food pantry in Bellevue to Idaho Power bill assistance through Project Share.
We keep it current for a practical reason. When someone reaches out to the Blaine County Charitable Fund, we ask them to explore other local, state, and federal resources first. Sometimes another program is a better fit. Sometimes the fastest help isn't ours to give.
And sometimes, it's just complicated. If you're not sure where to start or a situation is too tangled for a webpage to sort out, that's what our office is for.
Asking a question isn't the same as applying for assistance. We're happy to help you figure out where to turn.
