Aloha Temple of Peace community,
For more than twenty-five years, I have had the privilege of serving our Maui community through the Temple of Peace Healing Sanctuary.
My life's work has been devoted to helping others on their journeys toward healing, hope, and wholeness. Whether through ministry, education, functional wellness, or simply being present for someone in need, I have always believed that when one person heals, our entire community becomes stronger.
Today, for the first time, I find myself in the unexpected position of asking for help. I have recently suffered a confirmed stroke. While I am deeply grateful to be alive, the journey ahead includes ongoing medical evaluations, rehabilitation, therapy, and the time necessary for my brain and body to recover. Although I remain optimistic, this experience has reminded me that even those who dedicate their lives to serving others sometimes need to receive the kindness and support of their community. My goal is to focus wholeheartedly on healing so that I can return to serving others with renewed strength and wisdom.
During this recovery period, your support will help ease the financial burden of medical expenses, rehabilitation, travel for specialized care when needed, and the day-to-day costs of maintaining both my personal wellbeing and the Temple of Peace Healing Sanctuary while I recover. As many of you know, I have long believed that healing is not simply the absence of illness—it is the restoration of body, mind, heart, and spirit. I approach this chapter with that same faith. I am committed to doing everything within my power to recover through excellent medical care, rehabilitation, healthy living, prayer, and the support of the many healing practices that have been part of my life's work.
