For all the kids out there today who are happy they can spend the day at Hague's beautiful Town Beach and Park, there was a very hot day in August 1916 when the kids had to avoid public places. Who knows why the Board of Health issued this notice?

We're really pleased to share today's Sun Community News article about the Hague Historical Society's upcoming museum exhibit about Hague Central School. As always Shaundra did a fabulous job capturing the spirit that enveloped Hague when we had a school here -- and the passion that our Hague Historical Society Board has for sharing our town's history.

The Hague Historical Society showed a lot of team spirit in the Memorial Day Parade this past weekend. We were promoting our soon-to-open museum exhibit about the Hague Central School and our upcoming presentation about the school on June 24 at 7 pm. Board member Shelly Gautreau, husband Tim and son Thor were on hand with their restored 1925 vehicle -- an appropriate model year since the school opened just two years later, in 1927. Our other board members were cheerleaders and banner carriers,. Shelly and Tim;s nephew Zeb Denno also marched with us as the youngest member of our team.

Local author Seddon Beaty publishes new book about the Lake George Monster. The book is illustrated by another Hague resident, Chris Quinn. All profits will benefit the Hague Historical Society. Read the article in The Sun newspaper.

HAGUE | Local author Seddon Beaty has a new children's book out, and though it's non-fiction, the story inspired-by-actual-events has all the makings for an epic and memorable drama. In this case, the truth is indeed stranger than fiction.

The Hague Chronicle publishes on the 1st of every month. But how much do you know about the history of this newspaper? We just uploaded a video of a conversation with Alison Craig and Dottie Henry as they talk about their involvement in this great paper. Dottie and Alison are gone, but surely not forgotten! https://haguehistorical.com/interviews
