In New York, there’s no better way to see the Adirondacks than by horseback…and you can do just that at Circle B Ranch in Chestertown, NY on one of their scenic trail rides! Located at 771 Potter Brook Road, just north of the Lake George and Saratoga area, this long-running ranch sits on land that dates back to the 1800s, when it first began as a farm. Today, guests can ride through quiet Adirondack forest, valleys, marshland, and bogs on guided trails surrounded by more than 3,000 acres of wilderness. The main ride covers about 3 to 4 miles, lasts around 50 to 60 minutes, and leads to a beaver dam, with chances to spot turtles, frogs, orange newts, blue heron, deer, and mountain views along the way. The ride has a calm, easy pace as your horse follows wooded paths, crosses open valley areas, and passes wetland spots where wildlife is often seen. Riders 12 and up can also book the limited Sunset Mountain Ride, a one-hour trip to a mountaintop lookout where the Adirondack Mountains stretch out around you as the light begins to drop over the trees. No matter which trail ride you choose, you're bound to leave with an experience you won't soon forget here in this beautiful area of NY!
