Dogs on the Move!

U2SA was busy this past weekend helping our dogs move on to bigger and better things — and we couldn’t be happier for them!

Sweet Marshmallow and fan favorite Drex are both headed to partner rescues where they’ll continue their journeys toward finding their forever homes.

Marshmallow is headed to City Dogs & City Kitties Rescue in the Washington, DC area. A huge thank you to her short-term fosters, Steven and Tracy, for opening their home and hearts to this precious girl.

Marshmallow was a dog who simply needed someone to give her a chance. While waiting in an outside kennel for someone to help her, she did nothing but cry — literally. She was telling anyone who would listen that she was scared, confused, and desperately needed someone to come for her. Now, thanks to everyone who played a part in her journey, she is one step closer to the loving home she deserves.

Drex is headed to PetConnect Rescue in Potomac, MD! A huge thank you to our volunteer drivers, Larry and Neal, for getting Drex safely to us and handing him over to Patty for the final leg of his journey. We can’t wait to see what the future holds for this sweet boy.

We are incredibly grateful to our partner rescues, City Dogs and City Kitties Rescue and PetConnect, for continuing to open their doors to dogs who need a second chance.

This is what rescue is all about — working together, moving dogs forward, and giving them opportunities they simply would not have had otherwise.

Uniting to save dogs from desperate situations. Dogs that have no other hope for a better life.

Our boy BOOMER is in 8th place! Long time followers of U2SA and Saving Webster Dogs will remember Boomer. He was overlooked for so long until Pat saw in him what we all knew…and now he’s living his best life. Please consider voting for our boy and help get him in 1st place!

Freedom Ride Saturday!

Three lucky dogs got to trade the farm for something pretty wonderful today — foster homes and a forever home!

Josie, our beautiful Beagle, is off to seasoned foster Erin and her family. W***y, our sweet older black and tan boy, is headed to veteran fosters Carol and Dave. Two dogs who get to wake up tomorrow knowing life has changed for the better.

And then there’s Oakley — who today became Wrenly, her new name! She headed straight to her adoptive family, Laura, Ethan, and Alexandria.

And the way Wrenly came home? Absolutely priceless. Her parents told Alexandria they were going on an adventure today. She had no idea the adventure included a trip to the farm to meet her brand-new family member! What a surprise — and what a sweet memory they’ll always have of the day Wrenly came home.

None of these journeys happen without our incredible transport volunteers. Huge thanks to Larry for driving from Cowen, WV to Morgantown, WV, and to Beth and her dad, Chuck, for bringing the dogs from Morgantown to Hagerstown, MD.

Today, three dogs got a whole lot closer to the lives they were meant to have. Now THAT is a freedom ride worth celebrating!
