Good Morning, there is a desperate situation where a rescue wants to pull this poor girl. These pictures are 5 weeks apart. We are really in need of at least a foster until there can be another placement found or she can be adopted. Please reach out if you or someone you know could foster her. All vet bills/needs are covered by rescue.

Meet Lucy- 10 months old and boy is she a smart and sweet girl. She is fearless and enjoys anything that works her mind. Would be a great companion for someone looking for an active dog.
A little history..she was adopted by an older gentleman who did not realize how active she was and he returned her a couple of weeks ago. She is currently at the humane society and not adjusting well to life in a kennel again.

We are in need of finding someone who would be interested in fostering or adoption. Please reach out if you or someone you know would be interested to opening their home to Lucy.

Most people in lost dog recovery know the phrase "let the dog come to you." Recently, Diana Swart took that quite literally. 😅 So much that she ended up trapping a pup right in her very own backyard!! 🤣

In Feb after a snowstorm, she noticed unfamiliar footprints around an area in her yard. Diana routinely feeds cats, and it was apparent something else had found this food.

Diana put up a camera but never saw anything-tricky little thing. Fast forward a couple of months. Diana was pulling into her driveway just shy of midnight, and there it was. Something black and definitely a dog! Initially thinking this was a black German Shepherd puppy that had been out from around the same time, she immediately set a trap. It wasn't long, and the pup went right in. Not the German Shepherd that she thought but a border collie. He was covered in ticks and it's unclear how long he had been out roaming.

Diana scanned him for a microchip and BINGO-there was a ping. The pup was taken to the humane society, and the individuals last registered to the microchip who were from Hagerstown were contacted.

High five, Diana! Another one is safe because of YOU!

Another amazing rescue that doesn't happen that often started the other day, 4/15/25. Diana Swart saw a post about a little brown dog running in the farm fields of PA. She knows from tracking other pups that this is wide open land with very few residents. Unfortunately, she was working and couldn't personally check it out.

The next day, someone posted from the same area where they had caught the pup; it was a Yorkie. Diana started searching the pages and found a Yorkie missing, so she contacted the owner, not realizing they were in Martinsburg, WV. The lady confirmed their pup was still missing and it had been out since March 27, 2025. After sending a pic that the finder had taken, she said it sure looked like her Duke!

The couple verified certain commands the pup knew and confirmed their pup was not neutered-like the one found.

Diana served as the go-between and connected the finder & potential owner.

It threw some of us off as someone had did a botch hair cut on this pup to try to disguise how it looked, we presume.

Even though it was 2 states away, Diana said that it was worth the 40-minute drive to see if it was, in fact, Duke! The owner made the 33-mile trip, and wouldn't you know it, it was her Duke who had been missing for exactly three weeks.

We don't know how Duke made it from WV to PA, but what we do know is that he is back home with his family now.

Welcome Home Dukey!!

We'd like to take a minute to introduce you to Jessica Lynn . She recently joined U2SA as one of our Directors. Her partner & crime ( Diana Swart ) and she have been tracking and trapping lost dogs together since 2021.

Jessica realizes sometimes you have to go against the grain to stand up & do what's right for the animals, and we can't wait to see all of the furbabies she helps! 💕

Welcome Jessica to the Uniting to Save Animals: U2SA-Jethro's Happy Hounds House pack!

We are headed into the season of sun and we know someone out there could use an outdoor adventure partner!

Everyone say heeeeeyyyy Goldie 💁‍♀️

Not only is she the sweetest but she is going to make a wonderful best friend to someone. She is currently spending more time in a kennel than with humans and we'd like to change that.

Female, 1-2 years old, UTD on shots

Do you or someone you know feel moved to foster/adopt?

Please share and if you are interested in sharing your heart and home to Goldie- please reach out!

If you or someone you know have been contemplating fostering an animal-let's chat. Fostering is a great way to transition a dog from shelter life to a home. It teaches them they are worthy of love and they can trust humans to provide stability while you fulfill their basic needs 🩷
