Markeim Arts Center Markeim Arts, a nonprofit arts center in Haddonfield, Camden Co. NJ, offers art classes & camps to So Jersey. The Arts are the expression of a community.

Since the advent of the Haddonfield Arts and Crafts League in 1956, the goal of the Center has been to promote the creation and enjoyment of the visual arts. Now over 50 years later, the renovation of the gallery and development of expanded programs and services for artists ensures that the Markeim Arts Center will continue to fulfill its commitment to that community. Master glass artist Michael Peluso brings almost 30 years of glass experience to Markeim Arts Center. In this introductory class, no experience is required. After a simple demonstration students will have the option to make their own item with guided instruction from Mr Peluso. Glass is ready to take home at the end of class.

This week! Girls Night Out Clay (BYOB!)

Friday May 29
7:00-8:30 p.m.


Grab your girlfriends and come to downtown Haddonfield for an evening of connection and laughter while learn how to shape clay by hand using hand building and sculptural techniques. For this Friday night, we’ll be focusing on ribbon vases — but if you’d rather shape a ring dish, that’s fine too! The vase is just a suggested group project. Gianna is open to whatever you’d like to create and is willing to show you the ropes to get there. All levels are encouraged to join us. Adults – BYOB (we have glasses on site!). Charcuterie and snacks welcome to complete the evening’s festivities!

Pilates is a whole-body exercise experience designed to strengthen and lengthen your muscles. Based on a progressive series of exercises which can be modified to accommodate all fitness levels, Pilates will increase your strength, flexibility and balance while building your core muscles and back.

Tai Chi is an effective low-impact workout that can improve balance, ease arthritis, and stimulate the immune system. You may find it contributes to peace of mind and general well-being! Jack Poupard will teach the Yang form of Tai Chi which encourages soft, graceful movements reminiscent of dancing with an old friend. Jack has been a martial art instructor for over 50 years and a student of tai chi since 1980.

Kids Learn to Draw with Sharon Domenico

Ages 9-14
Join local artist Sharon Domenico in a relaxing Friday afternoon at Markeim Haddonfield learning to draw, with emphasis on Sharon’s own sweet spot – our lovable pets. Students are not required to draw animals – they are welcome to bring a photo or small still life set up, or find one at the center, as they learn how to improve their drawing skills: lines, shapes & values.
The class will begin with an instructional exercise and then students will have the opportunity to apply the lesson to their own work.
