Hello,

AYSO Region 23 will be hosting the Inaugural DD’s Goals 4 Good this Thanksgiving season. This event allows AYSO Region 23 players and parents the opportunity to score a penalty kick on their Commissioner! This event is inspired in the memory of Donna Davis, a longtime supporter of Region 23, and alongside her sons, their wives, her husband, and her grandchildren have given so much to the region. Donna herself was an amazingly selfless person who gave to others every time she could. We know that Donna would be head over heels at the thought of this event, and will be there with us in spirit.
For every goal scored, Region 23 will be donating a turkey to a family in our community that may need a little extra help this season.

Attached is a form to sign up for the chance to win a turkey, or if you would like to help donate additional turkeys that we can give away. For discretion purposes, the Commissioner will be reaching out to the families selected.

The first 60 people who sign up will be chosen, unless we are able to get others to donate, and that number will go up!!

Selected families will be notified on the evening of Wednesday, November 26th to pick up their turkey.

Please help us thank Catherine Velazquez. Catherine is our scheduler and has been a member of the Region 23 board for the past 4 years. She ensures that our schedules are released in a timely manner, while accommodating as many requests as possible. She also ensures our team’s volunteer duties are fairly spread out amongst all of the teams, and coordinates them to be convenient to their game times! She definitely helps things run smoothly for our volunteers. When asked what her experience in Region 23 has been like, Cathy stated, “Getting to see all the kids excited to play soccer on Saturdays”. Thank you for all that you do, Cathy!

Please help us thank Celena Davis. Celena is our secretary, and picture coordinator. She has been a member of the Region 23 board for the past 13 years. She takes notes at our meetings and facilitates any business of Region 23. She also coordinates with our picture company and makes sure that that day always goes smoothly. She also assists with painting fields, snack bar duties, and other random things that need to get done. When asked what her experience in Region 23 has been like, Celena stated, “The best part about being on the board is getting to hang out with our soccer family every weekend! Being a board member means making decisions to help ensure our players have the best soccer experience! Not only do I get to see all the kids grow up throughout the years, but the memories we have helped create for families is extremely fulfilling.”. Thank you for all that you do, Celena!

Please help us thank Vicky Law. Vicky is our treasurer and has been a member of the Region 23 board for the past 6 years. She makes sure that our bills are paid, field permits are paid, vendors are paid, refunds are processed, and our books are in order! She keeps Region 23 financially strong! When asked what her experience in Region 23 has been like, Vicky stated, “One of my greatest experiences has been being part of our soccer region. I love how we’ve gone from a group of strangers to a true family — united by our passion for the game and our dedication to the kids. Spending time on the field, working together to make it better for our players and our community, has been incredibly rewarding. Along the way, I’ve met amazing families who consistently go above and beyond to ensure our kids have a safe, supportive environment to grow, learn, and build lifelong friendships. It’s more than soccer — it’s family, teamwork, and heart.”. Thank you for all that you do, Vicky!

Please help us thank Cynthia Tanory. Cynthia is our 14U and upper division coordinator. This is her first year on the Region 23 board, but she has been around the region offering help for many years! Always willing to help wherever needed, and reliable to get information passed on to our upper division teams.
