Glen A. Wilson High School is seeking an experienced Head Coach to join our team in February for 22-23 school year. Head coaches are key individuals in our school's athletic program and are selected because of their ability to accomplish the aims of the overall program.
The Head Cheerleading Coach is given the responsibility of maintaining, building, and providing direction in the sport to which they have been assigned, as well as monitoring the behavior, safety, and welfare of the participants.
The Head Cheerleading Coach is expected to conduct themselves in a professional manner at all times. They are responsible for fielding teams which our school and community can be proud of, both on and off the field. Teaching the value of good conduct, attitude, scholarship, sportsmanship, and responsibility, are as important as win-loss records in determining the success of the program. We would like to select a new coach as soon as possible for the upcoming year.
Coaching duties include but is not limited to:
Routine Choreography
Game Attendance
Plan, organize and supervise regular practice sessions to include an effective conditioning program and provide an opportunity for every athlete to improve.
Understand and practice the proper care and prevention of injuries.
Stay informed and current of the rules of the sport or activity and hold preseason meetings with parents and athletes.
Know, understand, and adhere to the cheerleading rules and guidelines as setforth by all governing bodies.
Additional duties as assigned.
Administrative duties including but not limited to:
Managing Team Calendars
Reserving Practice/ Meeting spaces
Keep an up-to-date roster of team members
Managing Fundraising Signups/ Materials
Organizing competition reservations & travel
Monitor and support the academic progress of the athletes in the program. Aid athletes in meeting the academic eligibility requirements and maximizing their academic potential.
Additional duties as assigned.
Preferred Qualifications
Strong knowlege of STUNT and Traditional Compeitive Cheerleading
1-2 years of cheer coaching experience with competitive emphasis
Requirements:
Hands on CPR/First Aid Certification
AACA Stunt Certification
NFHS Concussion Certification
NFHS Sudden Cardiac Arrest Certification
NFHS Fundamentals of Coaching Certification
Evidence of Negative TB (within 60 days)
Other requirements as outlined by the district.

High school or equivalent (Required)
Experience:
Cheerleading Coaching/Instruction: 1 year (Required)
