In Peru, thousands of young people who age out of orphan care must face the transition to adulthood without a family support network or a stable place to live. This reality can make it more difficult to access education, employment, and opportunities to build an independent future.

Meet Paola and Hilary who are residents in our transitional home ๐Ÿ‡ต๐Ÿ‡ช, where they are developing independence, strengthening life skills, and working toward their personal and professional goals.

Through this program, Luz de Vida provides them with care, guidance, and ongoing support during this important stage of life, offering a safe environment where they can continue to grow and build a future filled with greater opportunities. ๐ŸŒŸ๐Ÿค

๐Ÿ’ฌ En el Perรบ, miles de jรณvenes que egresan de Centros de Acogida Residencial deben afrontar la transiciรณn a la vida adulta sin una red familiar de apoyo ni un lugar estable donde vivir, una situaciรณn que puede dificultar el acceso a la educaciรณn, el empleo y el desarrollo de un proyecto de vida.

Ellas son Paola y Hilary, participantes del PAAI (Programa de Acompaรฑamiento y Acogimiento Integral) ๐Ÿ‡ต๐Ÿ‡ช, donde estรกn desarrollando su autonomรญa, fortaleciendo habilidades para la vida y trabajando en sus metas personales y profesionales.

During this session, they reflected on the importance of civic participation, learned key aspects of the electoral process, and discussed the value of casting an informed and responsible vote. ๐Ÿ’กโœจ

Gustavo Mendocilla has joined our youth transitional home, and we are so glad he walked through our doors. Like every young person who comes to us, Gustavo arrives with a story, a future, and potential waiting to be unlocked.

At Luz de Vida, we don't just offer a place to live โ€” we walk alongside each youth with individualized care, life skills, education, and people who genuinely believe in them. That's what Gustavo will find here.

Yesterday our board member, Hans, had the privilege of walking some of our girls to the polls for the very first time. In Peru, voting is mandatory and watching these young women step into that responsibility as adults was a moment worth celebrating.

For girls who once had no voice, no family, and no future they could count on โ€” casting a vote is no small thing. It is a picture of the independence and dignity they are building, one step at a time.

Peru's elections have been marked by uncertainty and instability over the past several years, and this election is no different. The road ahead for the country is uncertain. But we believe in a God who holds nations in His hands.

Would you join us in praying for Peru today? Pray for a future president who will govern with wisdom, integrity, and compassion for the most vulnerable โ€” including the youth we serve every day.

Nuestro asociado, Hans, tuvo el privilegio de acompaรฑar a algunas de nuestras chicas a votar por primera vez. En Perรบ, el voto es obligatorio โ€” y ver a estas jรณvenes asumir esa responsabilidad como adultas fue un momento para celebrar.

Las elecciones en Perรบ han estado marcadas por la incertidumbre e inestabilidad durante los รบltimos aรฑos, y esta elecciรณn no es diferente. El camino por delante es incierto. Pero creemos en un Dios que sostiene las naciones en Sus manos.

We are sharing some moments from the emotions workshop conducted by PAAVI (Orphanage Outreach Youth Training Program) at CAR Aldea Infantil Seรฑor de la Exaltaciรณn de Huarmaca ๐Ÿฅณ๐Ÿ’›. Through participatory activities and spaces for dialogue, participants reflected on the importance of identifying their emotions, managing them appropriately, and communicating them assertively.

In a beautiful countryside setting, mentors and youth spent time together through games, conversations, and activities that strengthened the bonds of trust and friendship being built through the program. ๐Ÿซ‚

The weekend was filled with joy, learning, and meaningful experiences, where every activity became an opportunity to get to know one another better, create lasting memories, and continue growing together. โค๏ธ
