GICL Foundation is a 501(c)(3) providing classroom/student grants & scholarships to our Mathews County Public Schools.

In addition it supports Historical Preservation of the Gwynn's Island Museum.

Music from 6-8pm by Mike Reed & Edward Wade. The Seafood Shack is the place to be on September 10! Proceeds benefit music programs at Mathews High and Elementary Schools

What could possibly be in this stack of boxes at my house?!? School supplies we will deliver to MES & MHS soon after school starts! Everything teachers will need from pencil sharpeners to composition books and so much more. Over $2300 was raised at our Dine to Donate at Richardson's Cafe that we turned into classroom supplies. Pics to follow when we unpack and deliver. Stay tuned!

Had so much fun being a part of the group cheering the teachers as they reported for MCPS Convocation and first day back to their classrooms! Open House next week then time for students on August 24. It’s going to be a great year!

What's going on with the GICL Foundation? LOTS! We had a successful GI Festival and loaned some games to the Mathews 250 committee for their festivities last weekend.

NOW...we've got our Dine to Donate Doubleheader coming up:

Thursday July 30 - 11am-9pm at Grill & Deli.
Sunday August 2 - 11am-9pm at Casa Azteca

If you've not been to one of our D2D events, here's how it works. Eat at the host restaurant on the set day and the restaurant donates a portion of the day's sales to us. This event goes to support our general fund for classroom grants...student scholarships...and more.

Did you know…there is a Little Library on Gwynn’s Island? It’s right in front of the Museum and is stocked full of both adult and children’s books! Bring a book…take a book…it’s free! Titles change all the time. Please don’t over-stuff or leave books outside. AND while you’re there visit Mr Tom and friends inside the library for some Island history.

In honor of teacher appreciation week we delivered snacks and drinks to all of our MCPS schools. As you can see we started having a little fun at our last stop. That’s what happens when you leave the party people unsupervised! We appreciate our teachers and staff for all they do throughout the year.

Get ready for our next Dine 2 Donate event! Tuesday, May 12 from 11am to close at Richardson's Cafe in Mathews. Dine in or take out. Proceeds buy back to school supplies for our MCPS classrooms. More info to follow!
