With school ending soon, those backpacks and folders are about to come home FULL of handmade treasures from your little sweeties. ❤️
Before those precious creations end up forgotten in a pile or tossed in the trash…

🌟 WHY WAIT WEDNESDAY — TEXAS COUNTY FREE FAIR CHALLENGE 🌟
Week 1 Challenge: TIE-DYE ART
Why wait for fair week to start creating? Each Wednesday, your Fair Superintendents will challenge YOU to make, build, draw, paint, or create something that could be entered in the fair! Whether you're brand new or a longtime exhibitor — this is for YOU.
🎨 This Week’s Challenge: Make Tie-Dye Art!
You can create:
👕 Tie-dyed shirts
🧦 Socks
👜 Tote bags
🖼️ Fabric art or other tie-dyed items
No experience needed. Just have fun and get creative!
🏆 New to the Fair? Here’s how this works:
You do NOT have to be in 4-H or a club to participate.
Items made during these challenges can still be entered in one of the fair’s open departments.
Every week is a new chance to try something different.
This is a fun way to learn, create, and maybe even win a ribbon at the fair!
(We will help guide you to the correct department when fair entry time comes.)

There’s something special about the Texas County Free Fair and the Activity Center — they carry generations of memories while still holding so much promise for what’s ahead.

From livestock shows and exhibit halls to community gatherings, youth events, and celebrations that bring us together, these spaces tell the story of where we’ve been. They remind us of traditions passed down, lessons learned, and moments that shaped our community.

But honoring the past doesn’t mean staying there. It means building on it — investing in facilities, ideas, and opportunities that meet the needs of today while preparing for tomorrow. It means creating spaces where new memories can be made, where kids can dream bigger, and where our community continues to grow stronger.

The future of the fairgrounds and Activity Center depends on community involvement — and that starts with Fair Board participation.
