Thank you to Cherokee Strip Community Foundation and the Three Corners Connector Investment Program for this amazing opportunity to upgrade vital systems. This grant will help provide arts to many here in Northwestern Oklahoma.

𝗚𝘂𝘆𝗺𝗼𝗻 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗧𝗵𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗿𝗲, 𝗦𝗽𝗼𝘁𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝘆𝗲𝗿𝘀, 𝗜𝗻𝗰.

In very rural communities, the arts do more than entertain—they 𝗯𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗽𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝘁𝗼𝗴𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿, 𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗼𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗴𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗾𝘂𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝗹𝗶𝗳𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗮𝗻 𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗿𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗼𝗻.

Through the 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗜𝗻𝘃𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗺, 𝗳𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗧𝗵𝗿𝗲𝗲 𝗖𝗼𝗿𝗻𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗿 𝗜𝗻𝘃𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗺, 𝗚𝘂𝘆𝗺𝗼𝗻 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗧𝗵𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗿𝗲, 𝗦𝗽𝗼𝘁𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝘆𝗲𝗿𝘀, 𝗜𝗻𝗰. received $𝟭𝟬,𝟬𝟬𝟬 to support updated lighting and sound as part of its exciting full historic renovation.

Since 1979, Guymon Community Theatre has been a home for artistic expression in the Oklahoma Panhandle, bringing 𝟭𝟰𝟭 𝗹𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀—𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴—𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆. Now, through a historic renovation in partnership with the Nash Foundation, the theatre is working to restore its auditorium, stage, and marquee while creating a safer, more accessible experience for performers and audiences.

Updated, state-of-the-art lighting and sound will help ensure that more community members can enjoy live theatre, including individuals who are 𝗱𝗲𝗮𝗳 𝗼𝗿 𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗱 𝗼𝗳 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴, 𝘃𝗶𝘀𝘂𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗱, 𝗼𝗿 𝗹𝗶𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗽𝗵𝘆𝘀𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗱𝗶𝘀𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀.

But the impact goes even further. ❤️

Guymon Community Theatre works to make artistic expression accessible regardless of socioeconomic background, allowing performers to participate without registration fees and encouraging involvement from 𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗿𝗲𝗻, 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀, 𝗮𝗱𝘂𝗹𝘁𝘀, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘀𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗼𝗿𝘀 𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗸𝗲. Productions create opportunities both onstage and behind the scenes—often bringing entire families together.

The theatre also strives to reflect and include the diverse communities of the Oklahoma Panhandle, creating opportunities for people of different ages, backgrounds, and abilities to experience and participate in the arts.

This project is expected to benefit approximately 𝟮,𝟱𝟬𝟬 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝗮𝗰𝗿𝗼𝘀𝘀 𝗧𝗲𝘅𝗮𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗖𝗶𝗺𝗮𝗿𝗿𝗼𝗻 𝗖𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀, helping ensure that live theatre continues to thrive in Northwest Oklahoma for generations to come.

We are very excited to announce our Fall 2026 show…… Shrek the Musical!!
Audition dates will be Monday-Wednesday Aug. 17-19. We are looking forward to putting this production on and excited for this journey ahead of us!! 💚💚

We are proud to celebrate Pioneer Days by decorating our theatre windows and displaying historic posters of Main Street from years past. It has been such a wonderful way to honor our community’s history while celebrating the spirit and Pride that make Guymon so special!

A huge thank you goes out to Bridget Leighnor, Quinn Leighnor, Abigail McCormick, Huston Garcia, and Ernie Garcia for helping paint our windows and hang posters of historic Main Street Guymon to bring this year’s Pioneer Days theme to life.
